and what will poor robin do then, poor thing?

Robin in snow photo by David Walton

The North wind doth blow,
And we shall have snow,
And what will poor robin do then, poor thing?

He'll sit in a barn,
And keep himself warm,
And hide his head under his wing, poor thing.

--16th century English rhyme

  1. Call to everyone - plant more native trees and shrubs! Stop with the manicured golf-course yards and plant vegetables and interesting ground covers instead - less water, less mowing, more abundance. Mother Earth thanks you.
