Package thief caught in sting operation in Shoreline

Pierre La Rose. KCSO Public Engagement Officer, reports that last week, deputies assisted the USPS in an undercover operation in Shoreline and were able to make an arrest.

The suspect stole what she thought was an iPad Pro, but was actually a decoy package containing a GPS tracker.

The package was traced to a business in the 15000 block of Aurora Ave. N, and the suspect was found with the opened box.

During the arrest, deputies found credit cards, checks, a social security card, and a driver's license belonging to another person, along with a container containing heroin and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect had outstanding warrants for mail/identity theft, and was booked for theft (2nd degree) for the recent incident.

The operation was executed in cooperation with the U.S. Postal Service, and teamwork by deputies, officers, and detectives.

  1. I received notification yesterday that my gift was delivered/left at the front door of a Shoreline address, but security cameras verify that the package nor FedEx ever arrived at the residence. I understand there is a similar Seattle address, but maybe drivers are delivering to "wrong" address on purpose? Still no location of the package.

  2. Give it a day or two. I had a situation like that and found out that the notice was sent when the package arrived at the local distribution site, not when it arrived on my doorstep.

  3. I would like to comment on this
    packaging/mailed to ones door
    step situation. When technology
Is doing its best,I expect to
rellie on the technology of today.
I know personally that a very
reliable Co. that sent a package
and delivers to my door with a tracking system to see when, what
time it will be at my door on 2
Separate occasions it did not appear on my door step. Well oh 2
Days later it was there. Greatful
becouse I'm on a fixed income. So
there are so many variables on that travailin box. Anything or any of the service's can go be
part of those delays. So who's
really to blame ? That's technology today. Honestly how
safe is anyone or just a package?
    Someone or agency or department
Should have been over seeing more
then just a package, gift personal
    presents from your Grandparents.
Things like this was never so
complicated when I was a kid. This
Fast pass world we live in just
    can't keep up. Technology hey
Do your job and LOOK AHEAD. Humans
Keep track of the Tracking technology!!!
