Seattle’s Yancey C. Blalock Freemason Lodge generously offered their “Bikes for Books” program to Lake Forest Park Elementary to encourage students to read books and lead a healthy, active life.

From February to June, K-6 students who met their teacher’s monthly reading goal entered a ticket into the “Bikes for Books” drawing. Students who went "above and beyond" their monthly goal received two tickets.

On the last day of the year, school librarian, Frank Kleyn, along with members of the Yancey C. Blalock lodge drew four names to win a bicycle and a gift certificate for a new helmet.

All Lake Forest Park students were inspired to read books and participate in the “Bikes for Books” program. Lake Forest Park staff and students thank the Yancey C. Blalock Freemason Lodge for encouraging our students to read books and ride bikes.
