Shoreline City Council candidates Susan Chang and Carolyn Ahlgreen will meet on the November 7 general-election ballot for the position left open by the retirement of Councilwoman Shari Winstead.

Chang and Ahlgreen qualified for the November ballot by finishing first and second in the August 1 primary election.

Primary results show Chang with 74.56 percent of the primary votes to Ahlgreen’s 14.21 percent and 10.55 percent for Bergith Kayyali.

Voter turnout in Shoreline in the primary was 31.89 percent, compared to 33.76 for all of King County, a figure raised by the 40.49 percent in Seattle.

Chang and Ahlgreen will run for one of four Shoreline City Council positions on the general-election ballot. Council incumbent Keith McGlashan will meet political newcomer Jin-Ah Kim. Council incumbents Will Hall and Christopher Roberts both are unopposed.
