80 people at first meeting of Shoreline Neighborhood Action Council

Organizer Gretchen Knudsen reports on the first meeting of the Shoreline Neighborhood Action Council, held Monday, January 23.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Shoreline Neighborhood Action Council meeting on Monday.

The turnout and energy exceeded our expectations by far! We had close to 80 people in attendance, all of whom linked up in smaller work groups to plan direct action items on a hyper-local level.

Groups of Lake Forest Park and Edmonds residents were also in attendance and worked to discuss organizing their own group.

We are excited to join hands with our neighbors to support those in our community who have been marginalized and denounce a political structure that normalizes xenophobia, racism, sexism, homophobia, and greed.

We look forward to an even bigger group at our next meeting -- stay tuned! In the meantime, those in Shoreline interested in joining the SNAC Facebook group can do so on their Facebook page.
