Letter to the Editor: Thanks to residents for support of Buddy Poppy drive

To the Editor

On behalf of Blackburn-Aurora VFW Post 3348, I would like to thank the residents of Shoreline for their generosity in our VFW Buddy Poppy drive over the Memorial Day weekend. Our Post, which is based in Shoreline, uses the donations collected to give to many veteran causes, including the Compass Center Veteran Housing in Shoreline, Fisher House at the VA Hospital, USO at Sea-Tac Airport, and the Washington Soldier's Home in Orting. Without Shoreline citizens' kindness and generosity, and the generosity of the stores involved, including Fred Meyer and Central Market, veterans would be negatively impacted more than they are. Thank you again.

Thom Fermstad, Quartermaster
Blackburn-Aurora VFW Post 3348
