Shoreline Councilmember McConnell elected to Board of National League of Cities

Shoreline Councilmember Doris McConnell, who ran unopposed for another term on the Shoreline City Council in the November 3 election, was recently named to a seat on the Board of Directors of the National League of Cities for a two-year term.

The National League of Cities (NLC) is dedicated to helping city leaders build better communities. NLC is a resource and advocate for 19,000 cities, towns and villages, representing more than 218 million Americans.

McConnell said,

"The National League of Cities (NLC) is dedicated to helping city leaders build better communities. NLC is a resource and advocate for 19,000 cities, towns and villages, representing more than 218 million Americans.

"I am honored to embark on a 2-year term starting in 2016.  I will participate in board meetings throughout the next two years, lending my leadership skills to NLC and building lasting relationships with fellow municipal leaders from across the country. 

"The goal of NLC is to be influential with our elected officials in Washington DC in order that their decisions will help local jurisdictions."
