Art Open-House at City Hall Thursday features Five Exhibitions at Once, 30+ Artists

Thursday, October 29, 5:30 – 7:00

 In collaboration with Shoreline Lake Forest Park Arts Council, the City of Shoreline Public Art Program will host the largest open house of the year on Thursday, October 29, 5:30 – 7:00, with more than 30 artists in attendance. Five exhibitions with media ranging from collage, to painting, photography, and ceramics, will offer the equivalent of an art museum atmosphere.

“Township & Range” – four artists along with the Shoreline Community College Clay Club and winners from the Kruckeberg Botanic Garden Photo Contest explore the overlap of human nature and the environment in urban and rural settings, functional objects and sculpture.

“Like Mother” – guest-curator Kelly Lyles brings 10 female artists together in a show of artworks inspired by the relationship between mothers and daughters.

“Recology Cleanscapes 2015 Artists in Residence” Shoreline artists Karien Balluff and Sarah Ruether exhibit artwork made from recycled materials collected at Recology.

“Identity and Place” – Shoreline photographer Ken Winnick launches his new series of photographs centered on portraiture and narrative.

“The Art of Piano Time” – Artwork rescued from decommissioned pianos used for the City’s Piano Time program, 2013 – 2015.

“John Kiley – Large Spheres” – New large-scale sculpture from this well-known glass artist

The Art Gallery at City Hall is located at 17500 Midvale Ave N in Shoreline, with plenty of parking. Regular viewing hours are from 9:00 – 5:00 M-F, from October 29, 2015 – January 22, 2016
