Shorewood team places second in category at DECA International conference

Ashley Garay and Jenny Ahn from Shorewood High School were awarded second place in the competition category of School-based Enterprise-Food at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando Florida April 25-28. 

First place went to another Washington team, from Enumclaw, and third place to a school from Utica, Michigan.

Local teams placing in the top ten for their category were:
  • Ben Harbert and Sarah Wayne from King’s - Public Relations Project
  • Scott Latz and Nicholas Latz from Shorewood - Travel and Tourism

DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
