Last Saturday Meridian Park Neighborhood Association Board members and volunteers gathered at Walgreens Store at N 175th and Aurora Ave N to invite shoppers to participate in the First Annual Spring Drive collecting items for Shoreline Hopelink for our neighbors who are in need.

The invitation to give was met with generosity and goodwill by the community, including the store staff who shopped and contributed items to the abundantly filled donation bins.

Over 1,406 pieces of much needed items were donated including baby supplies, body and hair care items, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shaving supplies, feminine hygiene items, toilet paper, paper towels, and more.

Shoreline Community Church members donated $50 of the $109 cash contributed to the Drive.

Meridian Park Neighborhood Association is undergoing a revitalization and invites all residents of Meridian Park to attend MPNA meetings held at Shoreline City Hall on the third Tuesday of each month 6:30pm – 8:30pm. The next meeting will be held May 19th.

  1. Wonderful cause and great work. However, I really wish the city sponsored neighborhood associations would stop crowing about neighborhood revitalization. They've been doing this in north city and echo lake to lull us all into supporting the outlandish upzone. Now they're moving onto meridian park. Mpna, are you passing on the real sentiment of your 'hood to the city, or just those of you lucky enough to be south of 175th. The rezoned area of meridian park wishes to succeed as we're now the 185th subarea. In fact, we really should push nextdoor.com for our own neighborhood designation, and form our own neighborhood association while we're at it. Because we're essentially not part of our former there neighborhoods at this point. I assure you, the moderate rezone neighborhood volunteers have been shunned from their respective neighborhood associations. no treats, goodies, and benefits for neighborhood advocates that don't promote the city's agenda.

  2. All Meridian Park Neighborhood residents are automatically Meridian Park Neighborhood Association members. If you live in this area, please attend the monthly association meetings that happen in city hall in room 303 on the third Tuesday. You will be welcomed. If you have a topic (such as the important one mentioned above) that you wish to have put on the meeting agenda for discussion, please email meridianparkna@gmail.com Attention Cynthia Knox at least a week before the meeting - this will allow scheduling time for adequate discussion at the meeting. The rezoning 145th and 185th impacts all of Shoreline. We look forward to hearing your valuable input.

  3. A neighborhood association is not a neighborhood. In the end there will be the Nor'easters, the Sou'easters, and the Tweeners.

  4. Call the new neighborhood that makes up the 185th rezone area "3 corners".
