#1 Ranked Lynnwood royally beats Shorewood 67-26

The top-ranked 3A team in the state showed why they're on top of the heap Monday night at Shorewood as the Lynnwood Royals girls raced to an easy 67-26.

The T-Birds gave their fans a glimmer of hope in the first five minutes as they edged their way to an 11-9 lead, only to see the Royals turn on the jets of a 21-2 run before the first half ended.

The Royals stretched their lead to 59-21 early in the fourth quarter, making for a 50-10 burst after the game's initial minutes.

Junior Mikayla Pivec dazzled the crowd with her coast-to-coast drives on her way to a game high 22 points.

The Gustafson sisters, Lily and Abby, turned in 9 and 7, respectively, for Shorewood.

The T-Birds return to the court Wednesday when they host Edmonds-Woodway at 7:15.
