Celebrate Shoreline Soccer Classic draws area teams

The Celebrate Shoreline Soccer Classic, held this year during the first weekend of the city's summer festival, August 8-10, 2014 drew Greater-Seattle area teams to showcase the city and say thanks for the fine athletic facilities available here. The annual event is jointly presented by the city's two recreational soccer clubs, Hillwood and Shorelake, in conjunction with the Seattle United/ Shoreline select club.

This year's tournament drew teams from locales such as Edmonds, Bothell/ Woodinville, Snoqualmie/ North Bend, Redmond, Mercer Island, Bellevue, Mukilteo and Everett to play matches against each other and against local Shoreline and Seattle teams. Matches on Friday night and Saturday identified the top performers to participate in semifinals and finals on Sunday, where trophies and medals were awarded.

The Celebrate Shoreline Soccer Committee would like to thank local sponsors SportClips Haircuts, Fireside Homes, Highlands West Dental, and Spiros Pizza and Pasta for their support, and to the City of Shoreline, Shoreline Parks and Recreation, and Shoreline School District for their longtime support of facilities for local youth soccer players.
