Have fun at NW SolarFest this Saturday


11th Annual NW SolarFest: Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair, 10am – 5pm at Shoreline Community College, Saturday, July 26, 2014, Free parking, free fun

Here's just some of what you will find at SolarFest:

KIDZone, the first 300 kids who take an energy pledge get a free mini solar car. Yoga at 10:15, music circle at 10:30, Different Drummers drumming circle at 11, Shoreline’s own Bubbleman at noon, Professor Phillip Photon at 1, Solar Powered Kidz Rock Concert at 4.

NW EcoBuilding workshops, hourly from 11am-4pm, Sustainable Home Makeover,  Rainwater Harvesting,  Passive House strategies,  Electric Cars,  Whole House Solutions for Homeowners, Passive Solar Home Design

Seattle City Light Solar Powered “Green Up” stage, speakers and music featuring sounds from The Hollers, the Highlife Band, and Ayron Jones (noon-2)

Trash Fashion Show where dogs will model fashionable outfits created from recycled garbage sponsored by ShoreDOG (2pm)

Barter Fair, bring your home grown or homemade items to trade (2-4pm)

“Momenta” documentary film screening about coal exports in the Pacific Northwest (2:30pm)

Urban County Fair: Creative ideas for sustainable living. People’s Choice Award

Solar Music Stage, Wes Mai, Jeff Haggard, Marcus Metz, Brittany Collins with Tyler Alumbaugh, JPATA 

Transportation Zone features 100% electric vehicles; Nissan Leaf and Tesla S Model

Enter to win Little Library

Over 75 exhibits, solar cooking demonstrations, live music, and good food.
