Shorewood continues baseball series at Shorecrest Wednesday after 4-0 home victory in Tuesday opener

The Shorewood baseball team continues its series with Shorecrest Wednesday at Shorecrest after defeating the Scots, 4-0, at Shorewood’s home Meridian Park Fields.

The two teams meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Shorecrest, with junior varsity teams from the two schools playing at the same time at Meridian Park.

The three-game series ends Saturday at Meridian Park with varsity teams playing at 5 p.m. and junior varsity teams meeting at noon and girls’ softball teams from Shorewood and Shorecrest playing at 2:30.

Shorewood leads the Western Conference 3A South with a 3-0 record (6-0 overall). Shorecrest takes a 1-2 division record (2-4 overall) into the Wednesday game.

In Shorewood’s victory Tuesday, Max Wagner hit 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored; Cameron Sterne hit a triple; and winning pitcher Ian Oxnevad struck out seven Shorecrest batters. For Shorecrest, Brady Dixon hit 1 for 2 with a double.

The Shorewood junior varsity (3-0 Wesco 3A, 5-0) defeated Shorecrest (0-3, 1-5), 17-6, Tuesday at Shorecrest.

Before the series, the Shorewood varsity won a Monday make-up game from Everett, 17-0.
