Find "Corey" and get a free bag of compost during Compost Days

Find Corey at participating stores
Compost Days has kicked off and is in full swing with a region-wide campaign. From now until April 15, King County residents can participate in Compost Days and receive FREE compost by finding “Corey” located at retailers in Shoreline and nearby!

Now through April 15, area residents can be a part of the Compost Days scavenger hunt by finding Corey, the Compostable Apple Core using the map. With every Corey found, participants will receive a coupon for a free bag of Cedar Grove Compost, and be entered to dig through a school-bus size pile of compost for $1,000 in prizes at the Big Dig Event at Lynnwood’s Fred Meyer, Saturday March 30th from 12:00 to 4:00pm.

To get their free bag of compost, residents can find Corey at these locations in and around Shoreline:

  • Haggen NW Fresh, 1201 North 175th St, Shoreline 98133
  • Sky Nursery, 18528 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline 98133
  • Top Foods, 21900 SR 99, Edmonds, WA 98026
Full information on the campaign here.
Compost Days is a region-wide campaign to thank Snohomish and King County residents for diverting 350,000 tons of food and yard waste in 2012. Waste Management, Cedar Grove, King County Solid Waste, and Seattle Public Utilities have teamed up on this year’s campaign, which includes some of the biggest compost discounts of the year at area retailers.
