Shorewood girls soccer scores with 49 seconds left to win the game

From Coach Bill Wilkins

Thankfully Wednesday night was another beautiful fall night for the Shorewood girls soccer game as Shorewood celebrated Senior night against Mountlake Terrace in the final league match of the season.

Each Shorewood Senior wrote a special note to their parents, most of which thanked them for their efforts and support in playing. We also had a special guest appearance by former head coach Nathan Davis and his beautiful six month old daughter Madeline prior to the match.

It took 27 minutes before Allison Lorraine dribbled through three Shorewood defenders and finished a near post shot for the only goal of the first half.  The second half opened with Shorewood starting to put more pressure on the Terrace goal, but it took until the 74th minute before Senior Bailey Wilson scored from a corner kick by Senior Gabby Fortes.

It appeared the game might end in a tie, but Gabby was able to feed a ball from right to left to Elise Rosenfeld who finished a shot into the right side net with 49 seconds left and made Senior night a special memory.

Mountlake Terrace had Amanda Aversano in goal and Shorewood had Ashley Swan and Ashley Garay cover the nets.  Shorewood finished the regular season 6-6-4 and 5-6-2 in league.  Mountlake Terrace finished 4--11-1 for the season and 3-10 in league.
