SCC Women's Soccer player of the week

Lauren Schoonover pitched a shutout for 89 minutes in SCC Women’s Soccer

Shoreline Community College named Freshman Kayla Browne and Sophomore Lauren Schoonover as "Co-Women's Soccer Players of the Week" for September 17-24 on Monday.

Browne (sister of SCC Baseball Coach, Ryan Browne) scored two goals against Clark College on Saturday at Dolphin Field on the SCC campus to lead the Lady Dolphins to a 3-1 victory.

Schoonover allowed two goals in two games for the Dolphins over the week, allowing a goal in the 86th minute against Everett on Wednesday in a 1-0 loss and then Clark scored a goal in the 89th minute of SCC’s 3-1 victory over Clark. Lauren has 3 shutouts on the year and has allowed 7 goals in 6 matches.

As the NWAACC's 6th ranked team, SCC will face Whatcom Community College on Wednesday in Bellingham, WA, as the two teams fight for 1st placed in the Northern Region, both teams have 2-1 records in the division. SCC then travels to Salem, OR on Saturday to face Chemeketa CC, who have struggled to a 1-5-1 record so far this season.
