On March 11, firefighters from Shoreline Fire raced up 69 floors of the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The annual Scott Firefighter Stair Climb features firefighters from all over the world as they climb 1,311 steps in full bunker gear.
Shoreline Firefighters also volunteer their time to coordinate the hundreds of firefighters, as they have every year since it began. Shoreline Firefighter David Engler is credited with creating the popular competition 21 years ago – when he first donned bunker gear and air tanks and climbed with hundreds of civilians. Anyone can donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on behalf of Shoreline Firefighters
- John Henson, Brett Defenbaugh, Michelle Pidduck and Sabine Arnold.
Donations will count toward Shoreline Fire or the individual fire fighters until March 30.
