The Lady Dolphin Basketball Team ran into the defending NWAACC Champions in their home opener and took a tough 80-44 loss. SCC hung tough in the opening 10 minutes, but YVCC pulled away late in the first half with a tough full court game and never looked back, going ahead 43-20 at halftime and pushing the lead to 65-27 midway through the second half before cruising to victory.

Kaleigh Phillips led SCC with 15 points, but was the only Lady Dolphin in double figures. Michan Lueke scored 8 points and had 7 rebounds in the loss.

SCC committed 33 turnovers as the Yaks full court press caused SCC a lot of problems.

SCC is now 1-1 on the season and returns to the court next Saturday at home against South Puget Sound CC in the SCC Gym at 2:00 PM. Yakima Valley is now 4-0 on the young season.
