Initiative Measure 1183 Concerning liquor: beer, wine, and spirits (hard liquor) which will take the State of Washington out of the liquor business, is passing with a 58.75% Yes vote as of 11/23/2011 at 5:21pm.
Costco, which was the primary sponsor of the initiative, with funding estimates from 2-10 million dollars, has invited all state liquor store employees to apply to Costco stores.

Someone added a hand-written sign on a poster in the liquor store at Gateway in Shoreline.
I was at the liquor store on 145th and 15th last Wednesday, before Thanksgiving. It was an absolute madhouse. Since it is the only place in the area selling alcohol, and it was going to be closed for the federal holiday, the tiny little parking lot was a mess with people trying to get in and get out. THANK GOD THAT IS COMING TO AN END! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd you don't think Costco and every other grocery store/warehouse store was a madhouse on Wednesday? Face it - Weds was busy everywhere. There was no parking at Costco. There was no parking at Safeway. The lines in Fred Meyer were 7-10 people deep at times.
