KCLS Collegewise Seminar 1-3 pm
Saturday, October 1
The Lake Forest Park Library hosts a series of free seminars by Collegewise. This week’s topic, Finding the Right Colleges for You, will teach students and their parents how to be a savvy shopper when selecting schools.

Seattle Opera Preview 7-8pm
Tuesday, October 4
Members of Seattle Opera’s education staff will lead an informal opera talk to give you a great orientation to their upcoming production of Carmen.

Playtime! 10am-11:30am
Wednesday, October 5,12,19,26
Join other parents, grandparents, and caregivers with children ages birth to 5 in front of the stage for art, games, and conversation, sponsored and led by the Shoreline Family Support Center.

Melody Institute Chinese Dance 4:30-5:30 pm
Saturday, October 8
The Third Place stage comes alive with bright colors and sounds as students of all ages perform folk, traditional, and ethnic dances from China.

End of the Regular Market Season
Sunday, October 9

Celebrate a wonderful season with a lively closing day at the market. And don’t be too sad: we’ll have two indoor holiday markets again this year. Mark your calendars for November 20 and December 11.

1–2 pm: The Shorecrest Hip Hop Club joins us to do a demonstration, and then they’ll teach a short class for children ages 5 to 11. Drop by the market ahead of time to reserve space for your young dancers. In case of inclement weather, we’ll hip hop in the Commons.

4-8 pm: Fundraiser for Friends of Third Place Commons at the Lake Forest Bar and Grill. A generous portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to Friends, so come hungry and toast your favorite market.

LFP Garden Club Meeting 9:30-11:30am

The Lake Forest Park Garden Club holds its monthly business meeting at 9:15, and a public program at 10. This month, Christina Pfeiffer talks about gardening under big trees.

Milner Family Fiddles 11am-12:30pm
Sunday, October 16
The Milner Family Fiddles bring their Texas-style music to the Third Place stage every other month.

League of Women Voter’s General Election Forum 7-9:30pm
Tuesday, October 18
The general election is on November 8, and this forum will help you prepare to vote. Lake Forest Park candidates for mayor and city council will participate.

Last Leaf Production 1-2pm
Saturday, October 22
As part of Arts Crush, Last Leaf presents “Town Mouse, Country Mouse”. This original adaptation of the familiar fable is set in Spain, and is interactive fun for families and young audiences.

The Lake Forest Park Library hosts a series of free seminars by Collegewise. This week’s topic, College Admissions 101, looks behind the scenes of a college admissions office to see exactly how students are evaluated and selected.

Computer Q and A 2:30-4pm
Sunday, October 23
Ask questions and get user-friendly answers during this free workshop. This month’s topic explores creativity on the computer.

The community is invited to attend the North Urban Human Service Alliance annual meeting and awards ceremony.

Northwest Ballet Halloween Dance Recital 1-1:45pm

Get into the spirit of the season with spooky and fun dances.

Monday, October 31
Celebrate at Third Place and the Town Center at Lake Forest Park.

4 – 6 pm Trick-or-treat at participating Town Center merchants. Look for balloons outside participating stores.
6 – 7:30 pm Party in the Commons! Costume contests, games, crafts, and of course, more treats!
