Shorewood boys play at league-leading Glacier Peak Friday after one-point win over Everett Tuesday

The Shorewood boys’ basketball team took its drive for a Northwest District tournament berth into a Friday game at Wesco 3A division-leading Glacier Peak after defeating Everett Tuesday.

The Thunderbirds (5-6 Wesco 3A, 8-9 overall) and Glacier Peak (11-0, 15-3) meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Shorewood lost to Glacier Peak, 59-44, at home in early January.

Shorewood’s 61-60 home victory over Everett (3-8, 5-12) Tuesday gave the T-birds sole possession of fifth place in the division and left the Seagulls in a tie for the sixth and final Wesco berth in the Northwest District 3A tournament. Shorewood had won a road game with Everett, 70-54, in December.

The Thunderbirds took a 40-26 halftime lead Tuesday and held off a second-half Everett rally for the one-point victory. Peter Berquist led Shorewood with 17 points. Ben Andrews scored 13.
