Drug arrest in Shoreline

On Friday, November 26, the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration Oxycontin Task Force and the Shoreline Police Special Emphasis Team served a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 16200 block of 10th Ave NE.

Special Agents/detectives arrested the suspect on several federal firearms and narcotics violations. The suspect in this case has multiple felony convictions and does have gang affiliations. When agents served the search warrant there were three large Pit Bulls and a Rottweiler at the home.

Following the search of the residence, agents recovered suspected Oxycontin, cocaine and a firearm. According to the United States Attorney’s Office, if convicted, the suspect is facing a 20 year prison term.

Detective Mitch Wright of the Shoreline Police Special Emphasis Team is currently assigned to the DEA Oxycontin Task Force. Oxycontin has become one of the most widely abused narcotics and is a popular drug with not only adults but with youth as well.

  1. I am very curious about why we research the distribution of drugs so obviously made by and for companies who may have good goals in mind like treating those with pain, and of course all the money involved in this. This is not a one sided or two sided issue, its reality... Unfortunately this and several other officers and even members of our military including people I am close too and people my son lost on his team when he needed the most all to a drug being manufactured with the soul purpose of lasting longer.... Now did they consider the possible longer addictions or possible longer side effects of these drugs before they put them in human blood. and after even police from a really honest police agency or so you would believe the Mercer Island police had their own lead detective fall to this horrible drug. After all the money is made from giving out this drug, why cant we then turn to making money by giving out alternative medicine with out the long acting "effects" I am sure at least this officer and all the people I saw lose their jobs on the port, lost good people, really important people are being hurt by this. I do not personally believe I know enough to say anything about Detective Mitch Wright as an officer or as a person. I will leave that to those that know him better. Or that think that way. I personally am resolution oriented. So why don't we just go ahead and create and regulate a possible treatment system for people that are addicted to long acting medicines.... Oh wait we did and were just not talking about it here. Medical Cannabis combined with either a maintenance program/taper/pain clinic, or a program using antagonists and then cannabis as kind of a buffer for the withdrawal symptoms. I am not talking out of my ass here my wife is an expert and I take these long acting medications and have for years without incident. Other than pharmacies looking at me funny ever since this task force got put together. After all I went to a Pain clinic. It did wonders for me and my methodology in concern to using dangerous narcotic pain medicines.
