Sky Nursery Celebrates New Store Grand Opening

Sky Nursery is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of their new store and greenhouse.

The event will take place June 12, from 9 am to 6 pm.

Sky Nursery is a family owned and operated business. Founded in 1953, Sky has served generations of gardeners in the Shoreline and Seattle communities.

Today Sky Nursery is recognized as the "Gardener's Garden Store" throughout the region.

Long before the economic downturn, Sky Nursery was planning to change in a big way. The proposed widening of Aurora was going to take away critical storefront parking. Ownership took the opportunity to redesign the layout of the nursery.

The result is 52,000 square feet of new retail space, including a 35,000 square foot state-of-the-art greenhouse, and a new parking lot at the north end of the property.

Both the store and greenhouse offer added shopping convenience. “We have a lot more undercover shopping than before, wider aisles, double the parking space and new product lines,” said Mary Heide, Manager.

In conjunction with the Grand Opening from 9 am to 6 pm, Sky Nursery will celebrate their 10th Annual Customer Appreciation Day.

The Grand Opening/Customer Appreciation event will feature sales in every department, and vendors will be on hand to answer questions. Plants and garden products will be raffled off throughout the day and Sky's Junior Gardener’s Club will host events in the afternoon for kids, K-6th grade.

Three FM radio stations will be represented at the event, KJR, KCMS, and KMTT.  Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

Sky Nursery is located at 18528 Aurora Ave N in Shoreline. For store hours and additional information call 206-546-4851 or visit the website
