Shorecrest girls second in Northwest District 3A track


Shorecrest’s girls’ track team matched the Scot boys by finishing second in the Northwest District 3A track meet at Shoreline Stadium Wednesday and Friday, May 19 and 21.

Seven Shorecrest athletes qualified in eight events for the State 3A championships Thursday through Saturday, May 27-29 in Tacoma; India Matheson, 1st in the discus; Rachel Schrote, 1st in the long jump; Alexis Ramos, 2nd in both the 100 meters and the 100 hurdles; Emily Corona, 2nd in the high jump, long jump and javelin; Elisa Ahern, 2nd in the triple jump; and Lynleigh Oliver, Schrote, Ashley Desharnias and Ramos in the 4x100.

Team scores — Glacier Peak 142.83, Shorecrest 126, Ferndale 110.83, Sedro-Woolley 76, Everett 76, Mount Vernon 71.33, Lynnwood 45, Meadowdale 44.
