Saturday was the annual Shorewood / Shorecrest fastpitch softball rivalry game at Meridian Park Field. Tied 8-8 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, Shorewood scored one run to win 9-8.
It was also Shorecrest's annual "Pink Night Out" game to raise awareness for cancer research.

Spring softball is starting next month!
Richmond Little League is excited for the upcoming softball season so we are inviting all players and interested girls to attend a fun softball event we are calling "try it" rather than "try out."
All girls who are interested in trying the game of softball are welcome to come and be part of the fun. Tell your friends and schoolmates that this is open to all and it's free.We also want all registered girls to attend so we can assign them the appropriate team.
Please meet us this Saturday from 2pm to 3:30pm at Meridian Park Elementary's utility field for some fun softball games. We look forward to seeing you then. Email for more information

Richmond Little League encourages girls ages 7-14 to sign up for their girls' softball program. They will field teams at four playing levels so girls will play at appropriate skill level.
The season starts in March and concludes in May and will consist of 14 games. This is a great outdoor activity for girls. Register today online.

Richmond Little League offers baseball and softball programs for boys and girls ages 4-18 years old who live or attend school within the boundaries of west Shoreline, from west of I-5 extending from 145th to 205th.
Registration for the Richmond Little League 2015 Spring Season is now open. Register online.
If you have questions about the 2015 Spring Season Evaluation process, contact the Player Agent or the League President.
RLL boundaries cover a portion of the city of Shoreline, Washington, and specifically are: 145th Street to the South, 205th Street to the North (the King/Snohomish county line), I-5 to the East, and Puget Sound to the West.
Players who attend a school that is in this area may play for Richmond Little League. The Shoreline School District schools in this area are; Meridian Park, Highland Terrace, Parkwood, Echo Lake, Syre, Einstein Middle School, and Shorewood High School. Students at private schools are also eligible including St. Luke's and King's.
If you live in the city of Shoreline but East of I-5, or in Lake Forest Park, you need to contact North King County Little League.
When registering a player, keep in mind that Richmond Little League is a volunteer organization. Throughout the year, our volunteers put in countless hours to give our players a safe and enjoyable environment.

Reindel takes reins of SCC softball

The Shoreline Community College Women’s Softball team has new leadership with the appointment of Ben Reindel to fill the duties of head coach.
Reindel has coached high school and club baseball and softball over the past nine years and served as Shoreline’s assistant coach for the past year. Six of those seasons have been as a head coach.
Reindel played baseball at John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien. He received all-league honors and led the Seamount League in home runs his senior season at Kennedy.
“Ben excels in game planning and managing as well as instructing hitters,” said Athletic Director Steve Eskridge. “He is enthusiastic about for teaching the game and excited to recruit and help bring student athletes to Shoreline.”
Reindel is taking over the position from Bryan Johnson. “We wish Bryan the best and thank him for his time at Shoreline,” Eskridge said.

Richmond Little League is open to all children between the ages of 5 and 18. We will field teams in baseball for boys and girls and also girls’ softball. Any player registered before February 7 is guaranteed a place on a team.
- If you register your player before January 1, 2015 you will receive a $10 discount.
- Player evaluations (for ages 8 and above). There are three time slots to choose from during registration. Evaluations will be held on February 7, 2014 at Meridian Park.

Other important dates:
- January clinics will be held on selected Saturday mornings for registered players. More information about these free clinics will be made available soon.
- Parent Meeting during the week of February 23 for Minor (including Kid Pitch), Majors, 90’ baseball and Softball. There is another Parent Meeting for Tee Ball and Coach Pitch division in March.
- Annual Jamboree and Hit-a-Thon on May 2rd
When you are registering your player please keep in mind that Richmond Little League is a volunteer organization. Throughout the year our volunteers put in countless hours to give your player a safe and enjoyable environment. We can use and would like any and all help that you can provide. During the registration page you are asked to fill out your information (name, address, etc.). At the bottom is a little box asking about volunteering. Take a moment to consider what you may be able to help with. Selecting this box does not tie you into anything but allows us to let you know about opportunities during the season where you may help the kids of Shoreline.

The fee is $50 and includes a summer ball t-shirt.
Registration is open to any player from surrounding leagues and cities.

The Shorewood softball team finished its season with an 18-0 home loss to Meadowdale Wednesday in a game shortened to five innings by the mercy rule.
The loss followed a 17-3 loss at Mountlake Terrace Monday and left the Thunderbirds with a 1-12 Wesco 3A record (3-17 overall).
In the loss to Meadowdale, Alison Feise hit 1 for 1, Holly Ebel and Shelby Wade both hit 1 for 2 for Shorewood.

The Shorecrest and Shorewood softball teams meet Friday at Shorecrest High School (NOTE: A recent post said erroneously that the game was scheduled for Thursday.)
Shorewood takes a 1-9 Wesco 3A record (3-14 overall) into the game at 4pm Friday at Shorecrest (0-10, 2-15).
Shorewood defeated Shorecrest 24-14 when the two teams played at Shorewood’s home Meridian Park fields April 5.
Shorewood is coming off a 12-2 loss at Stanwood Tuesday in a game shortened to six innings by the mercy rule. Alison Feise hit a double and Shorewood teammate Abby Gustafson hit a triple. Losing pitcher Holly Ebel dropped her record to 3-12. Stanwood’s victory gave Stanwood the last position in the Northwest District 3A tournament and eliminated Shorewood from tournament contention.
The Shorewood junior varsity lost to Stanwood, 17-0.

The Shorewood softball team plays at Shorecrest Thursday after home losses to Oak Harbor and Mountlake Terrace and losses at Glacier Peak and Stanwood.
Shorewood and Shorecrest meet at 4pm Thursday at Shorecrest High School.
Shorewood lost at home, 17-5, to Oak Harbor Tuesday, April 29; at home, 16-4, to Mountlake Terrace Wednesday; 14-0 at Glacier Peak Friday; and 12-2 at Stanwood Tuesday, May 6.
In the loss to Oak Harbor April 29 at Stanwood’s home Meridian Park fields, the game was shortened to five innings by the mercy rule. Carli Herman and Shelby Wade each hit 2 for 3 for Shorewood.
In the loss to Mountlake Terrace at Meridian Park Wednesday in another game shortened to five innings, Lauren Smith and Ebony Harrison each hit 1 for 2 for the Thunderbirds.
The Shorewood junior varsity lost 14-8 to Oak Harbor April 29, defeated Mountlake Terrace 14-13 April 30, lost 15-2 at Glacier Peak Friday and lost 17-0 at Stanwood Tuesday.

The Shorewood softball team plays a home game with Oak Harbor Tuesday after an 11-2 home loss to Marysville Getchell a week earlier.
Shorewood takes a 1-5 Western Conference 3A record (3-10 overall) into the game with Oak Harbor (0-6, 1-11) at Shorewood’s home Meridian Park fields at 4pm Tuesday, with junior varsity teams from the two schools playing at the same time on an adjacent field,
In the 11-2 loss to Getchell at Meridian Park Tuesday, April 22, Shorewood catcher Alison Feise hit 2 for 3. Holly Ebel was the losing pitcher. Getchell pitcher Kymber Devlin struck out 11 Shorewood batters.
