Cascade Music and Drama is excited to introduce small-group piano lessons for youth and adults at Shoreline Community College this fall. 

Learn and grow with one of the area’s most sought-after instructors, Dr. Jensina Oliver. Sessions cover rhythm, movement, notation, singing, and early keyboard/piano training. Acoustic piano or digital keyboard with weighted keys required for practice at home. Lessons take place in the keyboard lab in the #800 Music Building on campus, 16101 Greenwood Ave N, Shoreline WA 98133.

Jensina Oliver
Known for her expressive and passionate performances, pianist Jensina Oliver has delighted audiences as soloist and chamber musician in the United States, China, Canada, Costa Rica, Israel, and throughout Europe. 

Her performances with orchestra include appearances with the Hubei Provincial Orchestra of Wuhan, China, and the Utah Philharmonia. 

She was a national finalist of the MTNA Chamber Music Competition, a resident artist at the Banff Chamber Music Festival, and has won several solo and concerto competitions throughout the United States.

Dr. Oliver is in high demand as guest clinician and adjudicator at events, conferences, and competitions throughout the Pacific Northwest. She has taught at Shoreline Community College since 1998 and has a thriving piano studio with students of all ages. 

Ms. Oliver currently resides with her family in Shoreline, WA, where she loves to enjoy all of the beautiful outdoor opportunities that the Pacific Northwest provides.

CPR/First Aid certification with WestCoast Training and Shoreline Community College Continuing Education

Participants will gain or improve knowledge and skill proficiency in First Aid, CPR, and AED skills to help adult, child, and infant patients in emergency situations. 

This hybrid course is provided in partnership with Shoreline Community College, WestCoast CPR Training and the Health and Safety Institute. 

Start with a comprehensive 4 hour online training course and conclude with a fun and interactive hands-on practice class 

Upon successfully completing this course, participants will receive an adult, child, and infant CPR/AED. First Aid certification card valid for 2 years. 

For 16+ students and adults of all ages.

The Honorary Consul of Spain has teamed up with Spain Flamenco Arts, FECACE and Semilla Flamenca to bring an authentic Flamenco experience. 

Rafael Ramírez, a talented Flamenco dancer from Malaga, Spain, has captivated audiences from a young age. Throughout his illustrious career, Rafael’s performances have received recognition, including awards like the “Breakout Artist Award” at the Jerez Festival in 2023 and “El Desplante” at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas (La Unión) in 2021. 

His artistry showcases a blend of tradition and innovation, making him a prominent figure in the Flamenco world.

Snohomish Film Festival Saturday at Shoreline College

The Snohomish Film Festival is coming to Shoreline CC Theater this weekend!

Saturday September 9, 2023
Doors open at 2:00pm

Support Snohomish film by attending this exciting event. 30 films included, plus meet and greets with the filmmakers and a live awards show! 

Tickets only $12 ($15 at the door). Make it a full day event! Come at 2pm, grab concessions in the lobby or stay for the food truck serving dinner at 5pm. Awards show starts at 8pm.

Washington state's newest event and forum for filmmakers from around the Puget Sound and beyond, to tell their stories through the medium of film. 

It aims to promote local talent as well as inspire, build and encourage current and future filmmakers, writers, and artists to showcase their work and receive recognition for their achievements. 

Snohomish Film Festival aims to build and foster community connections and help build a stronger film community in Washington State.

Join the 1st annual youth softball skills clinic hosted by Shoreline CC Fastpitch.

Coaches and players are excited to teach up-and-coming softball players! 

They will work on the fundamentals of throwing, hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, base running and a positive mindset in competition. 

Choose from 4 sessions (morning or afternoon) on two weekends Saturday September 23rd and 30th. Age 7-14 years old.

Come join the SHORELINE CONCERT BAND this fall! 

The band meets on Monday nights at 7pm and we invite all students, faculty, staff, and members of the Shoreline community to play with us. 

Any experience level is welcome! Our first rehearsal is on Monday, September 25, 2023 7pm at the Shoreline Community College music building, 16101 Greenwood Ave N, Shoreline WA 98133. 

This course is also available for college credit during fall quarter.

The WAVES (Worthy of Achievement, Validation, Empowerment, and Success) Support Staff, which was formerly known as the AANAPISI Program, would love to invite you to our WAVES Revival Wardrobe Clothing Drive-Thru we're having on Wednesday, August 23rd from 12:30pm-2:30pm at the Asian and Pacific Islander Student Center. 

We welcome all students, staff, faculty, and community members to donate any job/interview appropriate attire, winter clothing, and other items to provide our students in need. 

This is also a great opportunity to connect with us if you haven’t already. We’d love to meet you to tell you more about our WAVES program and future events we are planning this year. Complimentary shaved ice and snacks will be handed out as thank you all who donate!

College 101 for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) students

In Fall 2023, the Worthy of Achievement, Validation, Empowerment, and Success (WAVES) program will be providing an Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Affinity College 101 course that explores nontraditional college success strategies including identity development with an Ethnic Studies approach, trauma supports, and advocacy work. 

This course is embedded with new student orientation, peer tutors, peer mentors, and mental health support. It’s also an opportunity for students to work with an Academic Advisor to complete an Education Plan.

This guided slow meander walk will teach you to use your senses to interact with the natural world to reduce stress, improve creativity, gain a sense of calm and stillness while also feeling more alive.

Ideal for persons older than 12, and who are comfortable traveling on uneven, unpaved terrain. 

The class will take place in Boeing Creek Park, Shoreline. 

Mileva Huljev is a certified guide through the Association for Nature and Forest Therapy, with specific training in supporting people to improve their wellbeing by engaging with the natural world.

Black Rocket Computer Camps for Kids 
August 7-11 and August 21-24 at Shoreline Community College

Black Rocket’s distinct programs in Creative Sciences and Digital Arts focus on the intersection of creativity and technology. 

Each course emphasizes self-empowerment, cognitive reasoning, and creative thinking through hands-on learning. Black Rocket's mission is to help ignite, unleash, and enhance these distinct talents.

In-Person camps are offered on the Shoreline Community College campus 16101 Greenwood Ave N in building #1300 computer labs. Parents can choose from morning, afternoon or combine for an all day camp. 

Camps are grouped for students age 8 - 11 years old and 11 - 14 years old. Lunch coverage will be provided if student chooses to take two sessions during the week.

Chinese Language and Culture camp July 31 - August 3rd

Filmmaking camp for youth with Rising Reels

This camp will introduce students to learning about how to create a short film with an introduction to professional film equipment. 

Students will learn to create concepts and characters, script writing and the elements inside producing and directing to shoot their own short film.

This three session class with Mary Segle, Shoreline SCC alum and Visual Arts program support, is designed to give girl scouts the hands-on experience to make two simple pottery projects to meet the requirements of for the Pottery Merit Badge.
