Richmond Beach runners doing the Interurban Trail Saturday morning

Saturday, July 23, 2016

Saturday, July 23, a bunch of motivated runners will do the Interurban South run - up the hill to the interurban trail, heading South (right) on the trail.

This run has two distinctions - first it is the most straightforward run as there is literally one turn to the right.

In addition, if you make it up the hill at the start, it is actually their flattest run the rest of the way!

Just a little motivation to press on up the hill - see if you can get to the Aurora Bridge!

There is childcare available.

Start at 8:00am at the Richmond Beach Coffee Company, 1442 NW Richmond Beach Rd, Shoreline 98177. Check out the MAP

Running Club tackles the Innis Arden Trails on Saturday

Saturday run on Innis Arden Trails July 5

The Richmond Beach Running Club is looking forward to a good turnout for the trail run this Saturday, July 5, 8:00am. Meet at the Richmond Beach Coffee Company, 1442 Richmond Beach Road, Shoreline 98177. Start with stretching/warmup followed by the regular warm-up loop, then head out to a trail run listed HERE. A couple of key points about the run:

  1. Most of the route is on trails, so make sure to familiarize yourself with the directions and run with others. "The route is pretty straightforward."
  2. There is significant variability once you get to Boeing Creek - the route is 2 miles to that point, so 4 miles round trip (5.6 total with the warm-up loop). For some, that might be plenty for an hour. Others might want to spend some time in the Boeing Creek trails. I have outlined a simple loop, but feel free to modify. Our goal is still for everyone to be back at the coffee shop by 9:15am.
  3. Lets all make an effort to run with others and make sure everyone knows where to go. Many enjoy trails, but they pose a logistic challenge to keep everyone on course.

Childcare is on!

Running Club runs Edmonds Woodway lower route Saturday morning

Friday, June 27, 2014

Tomorrow morning, the Richmond Beach Running Club will run the Edmonds/Woodway lower route listed HERE after the warm-up run around the park.

Meet at the Richmond Beach Coffee Company (1442 NW Richmond Beach Rd Shoreline, WA 98177), Saturday, 8:00am in the parking lot, rain or shine. Participants are encouraged to find street parking so as to not overwhelm the coffee house parking.

Runners are of all types and backgrounds, from beginning runners to experienced racers. They usually do a warm-up mile around the beautiful views of Richmond Beach Saltwater park and head out on an hour run, where paces from 7-12 minute miles are common.

Everyone is invited to participate.

Contact HERE for more information if you are interested in joining this community of runners.

At this point, the group is completely free, though they occasionally sell team t-shirts or ask for small donations to raise funds for nominal expenses that arise.

Bring your children for great drop-in childcare.

Running Club starts 8 week track program Wednesday

Monday, March 17, 2014

Join us this week for our first...

Track Workout
Wednesday!

Einstein Track

Wednesday March 19, 6:15

This Wednesday, the Richmond Beach Running Club is starting up a great new 8-week track program. For many of you who were a part of our track workouts last year, we look forward to having you back and seeing your improvements once again this year.

If you have not come out to our track workouts, or have never done track before, we really encourage you to try it out - you'll be surprised how running on a track is really different, not necessarily harder and clearly improves one's running. It is also fun and social as we all get to participate together for the hour.

We will start promptly at 6:15 and end at 7:15 so get there earlier to run a few warm-up laps and stretch. Our goal is generally 3-5 miles of running depending on the week, less towards the beginning, increasing as our training improves. We will generally be at Kings Track, but the first week is at Einstein due to a scheduling conflict.

We look forward to seeing you all out! Bring your kids of all ages as they can participate or just play on the track and are a welcome addition to the group.

Come out and support the group and run fast!

Thanks, and see you Wednesday!
— Scott and Jeffrey
