To Briarcrest families from the Briarcrest PTA

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

On Wednesday, January 20, the Briarcrest PTA will have boxes in the atrium for your donations for the Rummage Sale. Now is the perfect time to clean out your closets and give away your unloved, unused, and unwanted items. The Rummage Sale will be on Saturday, May 22 from 8 am - 5 pm.

Popular items include: books, clothing, frames and pictures, toys, household items, tools, games, computer gadgets, monitors, televisions, DVD players, VCR’s, and movies.

All items must be gently used and unstained. All electronics must be in working order. If it’s broken or stained, we can’t sell it.

Items not accepted: Skis, couches, car seats, cribs, mattresses and stuffed animals.

At this time, we cannot accept furniture. A Briarcrest family has given us the use of their garage, but we do not have room to store large items. We will start accepting bigger items on May 21st from 3 - 6 pm. Another notice will be sent out closer to the sale.

If you are still interested in purchasing Chippery Cookie Dough for $10 a box (discounted from $15), we have the following flavors still available: peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, and candy cookie with M and M’s.

We are still offering Briarcrest Blend coffee for $12 a pound. This blend comes to us from Bellanova’s Coffee in Arlington and is made just for our school. $6 out of the $12 goes right back to our school. There are order forms located in the office or in the Paw Prints new letter.

To order cookie dough or coffee directly, please contact Christie Ferris at 206-940-7405 . Please send your payments (checks must be made out to Briarcrest PTA) in an envelope marked "PTA coffee or cookie dough order" and return to the office.

AVID Garage Sale

Monday, January 11, 2010

Need to make room for your holiday gifts and goodies? Are you ready for spring? Start your spring cleaning early and donate items, big or small, to the AVID garage sale.

Don’t have anything to donate? Come and shop!

The AVID program is designed to support students who show academic potential, may be the first in their family to go to college and may benefit from additional support in order to complete a four-year college preparatory high school program. The garage sale is a fundraiser for a field trip to Central Washington, Eastern Washington, and Washington State universities. This will give them the opportunity to learn more about three public colleges that may be a good fit for them.

The sale will be January 23 from 8 am - 3 pm at the Nazarene Church, 1900 N 175th St , Shoreline 98133.  Drop-off will begin at 7 am. Questions? Contact Wendy Friedman at 206-361-4299 .
