Keeping Your Business Healthy with Legal Checkups

Event description
Rules and regulations change, business partners come and go, and the company you are running today is not the same as it was when it opened. When did you last review your LLC operating agreement or your company's by-laws? When did your contracts get updated? Do you have an employee handbook? A document retention policy? Non-disclosure agreements with your employees? Is your old insurance covering the new equipment you bought or leased last year?

Just as you have an annual checkup with your doctor, your business needs an annual checkup by your lawyer. This short, free presentation will cover the basic issues and steps you should be aware of to maintain the health of your business.
Attendees can expect to...

Learn about common errors that can derail your business if you don't watch out, and good practices for business health and growth.

Top reasons you should attend...
Running a business can be difficult, especially with licensing, insurance, contracts, employment issues, regulations and so many rules to be on top of. Learn how annual review of your business documents and procedures by a lawyer will help you keep ahead of problems before they turn into disasters.

The speaker will share...
Insights from years of representing small businesses in matters great and small.

Come to this compelling and informative workshop to learn about identity theft, what is being called the 'Silent Crime', what it is and how it affects every American and the world at large. Not only will you get a better understanding of the magnitude of this crime, but what it means to us as individuals, business owners and the community.

Topics to be discussed will be:
  • What exactly is IDT? Hint: it's more than just your credit!
  • Why it is happening and how it is being addressed by the local, state and national authorities.
  • Why just shredding documents isn't enough.
  • I have bad credit, nobody wants my identity", " I have IDT though my credit card company/bank/insurance carrier/etc." and other fallacies’ that mislead the public into a false sense of security.
  • Solutions available to combat this rampant crime.
  • What you can do to best protect yourself, and more.

Identity theft is out there because our identity is already out there. There is no prevention. Awareness and protection are our only defenses.

Workshop Description, "Business Success: Creating and Maintaining a Sales Pipeline/Funnel"

Do you want your business to thrive? Then few things are more important to you than creating a reliable, constant flow of new and repeat customers, making the most of every single hard-won lead and prospect.

A sales pipeline/funnel works by assigning leads or prospects to the correct stage of your sales process, enabling you to pro-actively match your marketing approach to their interests and current likeliness to buy, moving them from being an unqualified lead to satisfied repeat customer as quickly as possible. Successful businesses build a pipeline system that consistently delivers as many customers as possible. Struggling businesses and salespeople don't. Which do you want to be?

Attend this workshop and you'll understand what a sales funnel is, and how to build, maintain and profit from yours. You'll leave with concrete ideas and tools you can start to use to win more business right away.

Title:  Sales 101 for the non-professional salesperson (and a tune-up for those who are)

Come prepared to have fun and learn skills that you can start using to make money as soon as you walk out the door!

“Sales. Sales person.”

What were the thoughts and feelings that instantly ran through your head when you read those terms? If you’re like most people, they probably weren’t pleasant. If you’re a small business person, you probably didn’t open your business so that you could be a full-time sales person. You opened your business to make a living by interacting with your customers and clients as you provide them with a quality service or product.

But ironically, to do that, first you have to sell your product or service effectively to your prospects. Most small business owners freely admit that although they love having customers and serving them well, they hate and aren’t very good at making the sale.

Are you comfortable and confident approaching a new prospect and being an effective sales person – in the best sense? Until you are, your business will suffer.

If you’ve never had good sales training, this should be a blast! Whether you believe you’re a “sales type” of person or not, you can be a person who makes lots of sales!

In this one hour, entirely practical class, you’ll learn some specific skills that have the power to transform the way you think about sales, how you approach and deal with prospects, that keep you in charge of the sales process, that will de-mystify it, that will make you much more effective – and will actually strengthen your self-respect instead of making you feel slimy whenever you “sell.”

If you’re already a sales pro, you’ll be reminded of some fundamentals you may have gotten away from. Some brush-up on your skills might make you some money!

Steve Porter
An experienced and successful sales professional who has sold everything from air conditioners to securities to TV advertising, Steve is also an accomplished trainer and presenter who’s effectively taught groups made up of many different kinds of people everything from how to sell to how to live in a different culture.

He has trained and led sales organizations and is still out there on the front lines himself, being the owner and only sales person for SnapMSB which hooks up small businesses with the marketing resources they desperately need, provided by outstanding true professionals, yet at prices every small business can actually afford. The right products from the right providers for the right price equals more customers and less stress for business owners.
