Founder and trumpeter Jason Garcia leads this 10-piece jazz band with plenty of pizzazz. 

Playing modern swing and Latin jazz standards in exciting arrangements and compositions, all to bring the brassy big band era boisterously to life. This band packs a punch!

The Mark DuFresne Band featuring Billy Stapleton is not your typical blues fare. This spectacular “show band” plays the material like a quintessential Chicago Blues Revue Band. This quartet is truly one of the best rhythm and blues outfits on the West Coast.

Since reforming in 2016 with founding guitarist, Billy Stapleton, this current version of the Mark DuFresne Band has been wowing audiences in the Pacific Northwest. 

With Grammy nominated Mark DuFresne at the helm with his 3-octave tenor voice, and his championship harmonica playing at full force, Mark’s powerhouse skills are sure to captivate and entertain. A dynamic singer and showman, DuFresne’s original rhythm and blues songs and instrumentals shine in the hands of this talented quartet.

Mojo Cannon (formerly known as the Curtis Hammond Band) is a high energy 10 member R&B band from the Seattle area and was a Washington Blues Society “best band” nominee in 2008 and 2013.

The band regularly packs the dance floor at blues lovers’ favorite venues and has performed at Northwest music festivals including the Mount Baker and Rendezvous blues festivals, the Bite of Seattle, Taste of Tacoma, Taste of Edmonds and the Poverty Bay Blues Festival.

Members have years of experience performing at clubs, casinos, wineries, festivals and other venues!

This year they were selected to perform at the Sky River Rock Festival 51st Anniversary event and many other amazing local venues. Their goal is to get everyone out on the dance floor and having a great time!

Guitarist/vocalist/composer Eric Madis, known for stylistic diversity and guitar virtuosity, has received acclaim from NAMA, Washington Blues Society, KPLU-FM, KBCS-FM, Kerrville Folk Festival, Seattle Guitar Starz Competition and Northwest Folklife. 

Besides his work as a soloist and bandleader, Eric has worked with artists as diverse as Chicago Blues great Big Walter Horton, Hawaii’s Farden Family, jazz ukulele virtuoso Bill Tapia, swing violinist Paul Anastasio and poet-author Nicki Grimes, and has composed music for film and television.

The Silver Tongued Devils comprises an A-List of internationally-known musicians, all of whom happen to live in Seattle: Pat Hues, organ; Ben Smith, drums; Tim Scott, bass; John Hanford, guitar; and Tom Collier, vibes.

Their members have played with such artists as Barbara Streisand, Steely Dan, Frank Zappa, Heart, The Pointer Sisters, and The Carpenters. Their specialty is 60s, 70s, and 80s Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Jazz, and Rock and Roll.

Grinders will no longer offer live music at their restaurant after this performance.

More than making music, though, we love to bring people to their feet and onto the dance floor. We feel extremely honored that our band was nominated for the Washington Blues Society Best Blues Band of 2019—our members Jimmy Holden and Robin Crane nominated for Best Blues Piano/Keyboard and the Chris Leighton Best Blues Drummer award, respectively. 

The big news is that Jimmy Holden won! We were also honored to be invited to perform at the Awards Event in Everett, WA. What a great day, playing for our peers and then watching James "Jimmy" Holden receive his award. Thank you to everyone who nominated us and voted for Jimmy.

“Billy Stapleton’s Powerhouse” is a band made up of four top-notch NW musicians.
 
5 String Fretless Bassist and singer, Don Wilhelm, was Paul Allen’s touring bassist for 9 years and played all over the world. You may have seen him perform with the Daily Flash as well. No one plays bass or sings like Don.

On Drums, “The Kingsmen’s touring drummer and vocalist Steve Peterson, is simply one of the best you’ll ever see. Steve plays the perfect groove every single time.
 
On Lead vocals, the hardest working gal in show business, Annie Eastwood. Annie is the Songbird of the Northwest. She plays in multiple bands as do the other members but really gets to let loose with a different material in Powerhouse.
 
North West Blues Hall of Fame Guitarist, Billy Stapleton, rounds out the quartet. A versatile player that plays with “The Mark Dufresne Band,” “Little Bill and the Bluenotes” and does duets with Annie Eastwood. A multi-award winner on Lead and Slide Guitar, Billy always gives you 110%.
 
The band has been together for almost two years an is constantly adding new material. They play a wide range of styles, Blues Rock, Blues, Jazz, Latin, Ballads and Instrumentals. Their flights of improvisation thrown into the mix making them a favorite at the Monkey.

Little Bill and the Blue Notes are an institution more than a band. Since 1956 Bill and various lineups have been wowing audiences with their take on rhythm and blues.

In 1959 the BlueNotes made the national charts with the teenage love song “I Love an Angel” and since then have released a bevy of recordings.

In the mid '60s, The Daily Flash found a way to fuse folk, rock, blues, bluegrass and jazz. That process lives on in this stunning line up.

The new edition of The Daily Flash has earned a reputation as a dynamic vocal band of consummate instrumentalists. The band features ASCAP composers and does original tunes, but their favorite trick is interpretation. They breathe life into an eclectic repertoire of folk, rock, Celtic and Delta swamp fusion. Mark DuFresne is one of the most sought after Blues talents in the Northwest. The Washington Blues Society has awarded him for best vocalist, songwriter and harmonica more than any other artist. 

He has recorded three CD’s of all original music, toured Europe. His work on the chromatic harmonica is considered as some of the most innovative in Blues music. His ability to circular breathe has left audiences amazed.

Grinders is known for its huge (and delicious) hot sandwiches. Music every Saturday and sometimes Friday and (no cover charge) Sunday.

A local Pop Punk Seattle Band, The Coastals, will take the stage at our Lake Trail Taproom for their first performance in Kenmore this Saturday Night.

Giordano and Albero started playing music together around 2015. Their connection continued beyond the stage and their friendship opened an artistic space where their life stories could turn into songs. Brazil and Spain meet at a rhythmic crossroads with dance and song celebrating and empowering the Latin sisterhood.

The Bistro is owned by a jazz musician who has a huge network of musicians. Music every night, Tuesday to Saturday. A menu of Small Plates and an extensive wine collection.

Gail enjoys interacting with listeners; her live performances have been described by Earshot jazz as going “…from strength to strength, performing a winning, crowd-involving style of vocal jazz.”. 

As artist-in-residence at the Amersfoort Jazz Festival in the Netherlands in 2006, she was featured artist with the New Manhattan Big Band, also Eddie Conard and the Dutch Jazz Cats on the mainstage and smaller combs in venues in Amersfoort and Harderwijk. Included on this tour was a stop in Kobe, Japan to perform as a guest artist at KAVC Hall as First Place winner of the Seattle-Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist Audition.
