LFP Holiday Market from Third Place Commons on Sunday, December 18, 2022

Tuesday, December 13, 2022

Hope you’ve started your shopping list because it’s almost time for Third Place Commons’ annual Lake Forest Park Holiday Farmers Market and Crafts Fair.

There will be no better place to shop for last minute gifts and all your holiday meals than this coming Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 10am to 2pm.

Don’t miss an amazing line-up of artisans and crafters stretching across both locations with a virtually endless array of unique, handmade jewelry, ceramics, metal art, bags, clothing, drawings and prints, photography, housewares, candles, holiday cards, and more.

Whatever you need – from stocking stuffers to show-stoppers – the LFP Holiday Market will be the place to find it, including work from several new vendors who weren’t at the market in November. So whether you’re heading back for something you saw last time or looking for something new, you’ll find it at the market on Sunday!

Of course, there’s nothing better than seasonal, fresh food for your holiday table. So you definitely won’t want to miss the LFP Farmers Market, which will be jam-packed with the freshest and best in Washington grown and produced fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, wines, baked goods, and more.

Among the farm vendors, you’ll see familiar faces from Garden Treasures, Well Fed Farm, Sidhu Farm, Martin Family, and if the pass is open, Alvarez Organics and Bautista.

For sweet treats, look to Doll House Baked Goods, Pete’s Perfect Toffee, and Browned and Toasted. If savory treats are on the list, stop by Cascade Valley Farm, the Mediterranean, or Holmquist Hazelnuts.

If you need a main dish or extra side, get the good stuff from Wilson Fish, Mollie Bear Farm, and La Pasta. Pick up the condiments and flavoring you need from 11 Olives Olive Oil and The Black Flag BBQ Sauces and Rubs. And don’t forget to lubricate with adult beverages from Lopez Island Vineyards and Greenwood Cider.

Both artisans and food vendors are still being added, so check the Third Place Commons website for the full, most up-to-date list.

Once again this Sunday, the market event will be spread between both the regular market location outside and inside the lower lobby of the Town Center at Lake Forest Park. Be sure to visit both locations so you don’t miss a thing!

If you want to use your SNAP benefits, just drop by the info table in the lower lobby of Town Center before you shop the food vendors. And yes, if you still have 2022 Market Bucks, you can still spend them with the food vendors, too!

So start making your lists and checking them twice because all the magic happens this Sunday, December 18th from 10-2pm at the Town Center at Lake Forest Park, 17171 Bothell Way NE. See you at the market!

Third Place Commons – a community supported 501(c)3 nonprofit organization – has been building real community in the heart of Lake Forest Park for over 20 years. In addition to presenting its largest program, the Lake Forest Park Farmers Market, Third Place Commons now also fosters real community in digital space with TPC At Home programs.

Shop Local and save on Greenhouse Gas Emissions - craft fairs in November and December

Thursday, November 17, 2022

By Sarah Phillips

This is the season of local craft fairs. Local artists, crafters, painters, potters, jewelers, welders are getting their wares ready to sell at markets.

Shopping close to home this year is worth a try! You can find unique items not available elsewhere, you don’t need to pay shipping costs AND shopping for locally sourced goods has the huge added benefit of not generating delivery truck CO2 emissions.

This turns your purchase into a gift for yourself, your neighbors, and future generations of Earth’s inhabitants by limiting greenhouse gas contributions to the atmosphere where they work as a blanket to heat our climate.

Why shop local?

Fun art showcases and market events support local crafters and artists. By sharing their delightfully creative, unique work with us they directly vitalize our economy.

In addition, shopping local can reduce emissions from air freight and the delivery vehicles. Greenhouse gasses GHG are emitted by all cars and trucks that are fueled with fossil fuels. These Greenhouse gasses can stay in the atmosphere for a century. It is as if the GHG are a blanket surrounding the earth. This results in warmer climate, rising seas and can affect our health and our ecosystem

Third annual Wreath Walk Edmonds November 17 through December 15, 2022

Tuesday, November 15, 2022

Wreath Walk Edmonds 2022
For the third year in a row, Art Walk Edmonds is presenting Wreath Walk Edmonds!

Created in 2020 as a way for artists to show their creativity during the dark days of the pandemic, AWE is continuing the tradition of hanging original, artist-designed and decorated wreaths in select storefronts in downtown Edmonds during the holiday season.

This year, wreaths will be hung November 17th through December 15th.

Art Walk Edmonds juried the wreath concepts to pick the best of the best in these one-of-a-kind wreaths.

Artists thought “outside the wreath” with their designs to portray the artist’s unique style.

Learn more about the wreath’s artist by reading their bio listed beside the wreath and on the Auction Page

The wreaths will hang in the businesses for a month, during which they will be auctioned off online in time to go to their new homes for the holidays.

Auction Details:

Online Auction goes lives at 5pm on November 17th - timed with the beginning of November’s Art Walk. Stroll around all 12 locations to see the wreaths in person either during Art Walk or during business hours.

Once you find your favorite(s), click the QR code by the wreath or visit charityauction.bid/wreathwalkedmonds to register and place your bid. You will be notified when you are outbid so that you can go place another bid.

You also have the opportunity to skip all the bidding and go straight to the “BUY IT NOW” price.

However, the wreath will not be available to take home until December 16th.

The Auction closes at 8pm on December 15th, timed with the ending of December’s Art Walk.

If you have the winning bid, you may pick up your wreath anytime between December 16th and the 31st (we will let you know and help you coordinate with the business owner).

All proceeds from the Wreath Auction benefit Art Walk Edmonds, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Arts in Edmonds.

Any questions? Contact Art Walk Edmonds at info@artwalkedmonds.com or 425-298-7947.

By Diane Hettrick

Judging by my In Box there is a consensus that the holiday season has begun.

Thanksgiving is tucked in somewhere but all you need to do is to get COVID-19 boosters for the whole family, avoid talking about politics, and hope that the power stays on long enough to cook the turkey.

This weekend is your absolute best chance for gift (and vegetable) shopping

Saturday, November 19, 2022 - Underground Holiday Market

10am - 5pm

Sponsored by ShoreLake Arts, City of Shoreline, and the Shoreline Farmers Market, it is set up on the lower level of the parking garage at Shoreline City Hall, 17500 Midvale Ave. N.

Parking at Brotherton Cadillac on the west side of Aurora.

10am - 2pm

Sponsored by Third Place Commons, the vendors will be both outside in the parking lot and inside in the lower lobby of Town Center, intersection of Bothell and Ballinger Way NE.

It doesn't get any easier than this.
