The Shoreline Farmers Market is thrilled to announce that it is hosting its first annual Celebrate Pride event on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
This vibrant and inclusive event in the heart of Shoreline will be a joyous acknowledgement of love, diversity, and equality.

With performances by the Burn Out Brass Band (an all-Queer marching band), the atmosphere will be alive with the spirit of unity and acceptance as individuals from all walks of life come together to honor and promote LGBTQIA+ rights.

“The Market strives to be a safe, welcoming place to gather for access to local food, small businesses and area resources,” said Mary Crandell, SFM Board President.

A grassroots 501(c)(3) organization, the Shoreline Farmers Market has partnered with the City of Shoreline and the Port of Seattle to present this inaugural event.

A village of unique shops - 12th annual Shoreline Farmers Market

Tuesday, June 6, 2023

By Diane Hettrick
Photos by Steven H. Robinson

The Shoreline Farmers Market opened its 12th season on Saturday with a village of unique shops.

After moving from Shoreline Place during the pandemic, the market is really settling in to its new location in the Aurora Park n Ride at 192nd and Aurora.

There were the normal flower and vegetable stands. All produce vendors are either certified organic or in the multi-year process of becoming certified.

Long-time vendors like Rainy Day Bees and Alvarez Brothers were there, joined by many newer vendors.

Information booths for the market, Save Shoreline Trees, Shoreline Community College, and others were happy to explain their mission and services.

A musician sang for the shoppers. Market management plans to have music at every market day.

The Market will be open every Saturday from 10am to 2pm from now until October 7.

The market tends to be quiet when it first opens (and our photographer is there) then gets very busy as the day goes by. If you are pressed for time, go early.

But half the fun is the people watching. There are tables by the food truck where you can sit to eat and watch the world go by.

For sweet treats, look to Doll House Baked Goods, Pete’s Perfect Toffee, and Browned and Toasted. If savory treats are on the list, stop by Cascade Valley Farm, the Mediterranean, or Holmquist Hazelnuts.

If you need a main dish or extra side, get the good stuff from Wilson Fish, Mollie Bear Farm, and La Pasta. Pick up the condiments and flavoring you need from 11 Olives Olive Oil and The Black Flag BBQ Sauces and Rubs. And don’t forget to lubricate with adult beverages from Lopez Island Vineyards and Greenwood Cider.

Both artisans and food vendors are still being added, so check the Third Place Commons website for the full, most up-to-date list.

This is the weekend to do your holiday shopping - Saturday in Shoreline - Sunday in Lake Forest Park

Tuesday, November 15, 2022

By Diane Hettrick

Judging by my In Box there is a consensus that the holiday season has begun.

Thanksgiving is tucked in somewhere but all you need to do is to get COVID-19 boosters for the whole family, avoid talking about politics, and hope that the power stays on long enough to cook the turkey.

This weekend is your absolute best chance for gift (and vegetable) shopping

Saturday, November 19, 2022 - Underground Holiday Market

10am - 5pm

Sponsored by ShoreLake Arts, City of Shoreline, and the Shoreline Farmers Market, it is set up on the lower level of the parking garage at Shoreline City Hall, 17500 Midvale Ave. N.

Parking at Brotherton Cadillac on the west side of Aurora.

10am - 2pm

Sponsored by Third Place Commons, the vendors will be both outside in the parking lot and inside in the lower lobby of Town Center, intersection of Bothell and Ballinger Way NE.

Both events include their farmers market, musicians, and local vendors with unique, handcrafted gifts.

It doesn't get any easier than this.

Don’t miss the LFP Farmers Market season closing day this Sunday, 10/16

Wednesday, October 12, 2022

The Lake Forest Park Farmers Market, which is a program of Third Place Commons, will wrap up its regular season with a bang this Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 10am to 2pm.

Yes, Sunday’s a big sports day, but you’ve got more than enough time to get down to the market before the festivities start. And you definitely won’t want to miss one final chance to shop your favorite vendors, say your goodbyes until next year, and get in on the freebies while they last!

Already in the Halloween spirit? Great! Come in costume, or dress up the kiddos or doggos in your life with their favorite costumes for a visit to the market.

Costume or no, be sure to stop by the info booth for some fun giveaways while supplies last. Kids can pick the Halloween squishy toy of their choice while market dogs will be treated to tasty biscuits (extra “treats for tricks” and costumes).

Grown-ups in the crowd can pick-up washable, reusable mesh produce bags (also great for delicate laundry and other household uses) while they last. So stop by the Third Place Commons info booth early to get your fun freebies (one per person) before they’re gone.

Meanwhile, it might be the end of the season, but the market won’t be short on delicious, farm-fresh produce to enjoy. For example, Garden Treasures will be bringing their fall crop of sweet Italian peppers for roasting and side dishes, while Gypsy Rows will have a gorgeous assortment of gourds and squashes perfect for baking, soups, décor, and more.

Honey Crisp apples are plentiful as well, not to mention those spectacular autumn flowers! Yep, fall is in the air and you’ll find all the colors and tastes of the season at the LFP Farmers Market this Sunday.

You know you’ll miss your favorite vendors when they’re gone, so don’t miss your last chance of the season to load up. And be sure to stock up while you’re there on locally produced goodies including pasta, candies and treats, snacks, dips and sauces, honey, wine, hard cider, baked treats, and more.

You'll also find some great guest vendors on hand for closing day including olive oils from 11 Olives, crafts from Brownie and Blondie, Dennis Cant Metal Art, and the Lake Washington Candle Company.

Plus, mark your calendar for two bonus farmers markets – paired with annual holiday crafts fairs – coming on November 20th and December 18th. Save these dates now and stay tuned for more details.

Third Place Commons is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been building real community in real space for over 20 years and now also offers online programs under the TPC At Home moniker.
