CORRECTION: Wednesday, Aug 21 for Carrie Clark & the Lonesome Lovers in concert

Sunday, August 18, 2013

Oh baby, this is going to be one great show! Mark up your calendars, put this in your phone, write it on your arm, but just don't miss this concert! 7pm, Wednesday August 21 at Cromwell Park, the Shoreline – Lake Forest Park Arts Council invites you to continue the summer of fun with this great (and free!) Concert in the Park.

An Oregon native weaned on classics by Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, the Beach Boys and ABBA, Carrie Clark immersed herself in music at an early age, teaching herself to play piano and guitar, and writing her own songs. Her diverse musical palette is unsurprising given her wide-ranging performance background: since moving to Seattle, her ventures have included an indie pop ensemble, a folk duo, and a jazz big band. She's also proven adept at sharing stages with myriad artists, appearing on bills with Laura Veirs, Mark Olsen of the Jayhawks, Basia Bulat, and Portland's notorious Vagabond Opera.

Shoreline Concert Band with Shoreline Singers and Shorecrest Wind Ensemble

Monday, February 11, 2013

Ken Noreen and the Shoreline Concert Band
in rehearsal

“MARCH MADNESS” happens March 12, 7:30 pm at the Shorecest High School Performing Arts Center. This event is the winter concert of the Shoreline Concert Band and features two guest groups: The Shoreline Singers, directed by Dr. Fred Lokken and the Shorecrest High School Wind Ensemble directed by Vince Caruso.

Directed by Ken Noreen and Assistant Director Dave Johnson, The Shoreline Concert Band will perform six different style marches – Holst to Sousa.

Featured soloists include superb harpist Bethany Man, soprano Holly Boaz, and tenor Jon Lackey. The SCC’s new 24 person chamber choir, Cappella, will also be highlighted in several pieces.

All concerts are free, family friendly and start at 7pm, rain or shine. Pack a picnic, lawn chair or blanket and experience the fun! More details and information about upcoming events.

Kris Orlowski arrived on the Seattle music scene with a sound that spanned the Beatles to Frightened Rabbit and with the soul of singer-songwriters like Elliot Smith and John Mayer. He has an uncanny flair for crafting emotionally rich songs that will have you tapping your toes even as your heartstrings are being tugged.

Orlowski, who sings vocals and plays guitar, has brought together Tyler Carroll on bass, Aaron O’Neil on drums, Torry Anderson on vocals and keyboard, and Mark Isakson on steel, banjo and guitar. Together they create the folk-pop sound that local audiences have been enjoying at clubs and festivals around the Pacific Northwest. Sound magazine describes the music as-- "Infused with some jazz, some folk and a twist of reggae rhythm added to the mix.”
