Robot U presents… “I Want To Be A Robotic Engineer” (or “MAD SCIENTIST”)

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Robot U will be holding a robotic and game design camp again this summer at Shoreline Community College, 16101 Greenwood Ave N, Shoreline 98133, from August 15th through the 19th. Camp starts at 9am and ends at 3:30pm.

For those who didn't attend last year, we take over a class room at the college and build robots and program video games, with breaks to go out to the soccer field and play games and eat our lunches. It's a great mixed aged camp spanning 1st graders up through 6th.

Before lunch, campers will work on a LEGO robotic project. Most will want to build elaborate LEGO MINDSTORMS robots, crazy WeDo (Jr) robots, or one of the new fantastic Power Functions creations that use a remote control.

Some will want to work with mentors to delve deeper into the programming and engineering concepts, but all will get to share their accomplishments with the camp.

In addition to a few short breaks, campers will take an hour lunch to go outside to eat their lunches and play different field games.

Parents: please pack campers a sack lunch, snacks and dress them to play. A water bottle is suggested.

After they come back in they will be learning how to create video games with Harvard’s Scratch and /or Microsoft’s Kodu. They will get to share their creations with the camp on the BIG SCREEN.

Camp fee $225. Register online.

Questions, contact Don@robot-u.com or 206-992-3550.
