4-Corners BrewFest August 6, 2022

Monday, July 11, 2022

4-Corners BrewFest Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00pm
Innis Arden Clubhouse, 1430 NW 188th Street

Admission includes food, music, a 5-oz tasting glass and 12 tasting tokens for some of the finest craft beers around.

Proceeds benefit Shoreline neighborhood associations of Hillwood, Innis Arden, Richmond Beach, and Richmond Highlands plus this year’s charity— The Immigrant and Refugee Ministry: Circle of Welcome.

"We are a Circle of Welcome team that operates through Lutheran Community Services NW, which promotes “the ling welcome,” which requires accompanying the family for at least a year, rather than the usual 3 months or 6 months.
"Our amazing, dedicated volunteers come from three churches: St. Luke Catholic Church, First Lutheran of Richmond Beach, and Richmond Beach Congressional Church.
"We are currently resettling a family of 10 from Afghanistan. The family was evacuated because the father served as a security guard protecting US forces for 15 years. We welcome our families at the airport, find permanent housing for them and fill the new apartment with furniture, supplies, and culturally appropriate food.
"School registration, employment, cultural orientation, tutoring support, and medical and dental appointments are priorities. "

Tickets!

Once again, we are offering Early Bird Pricing, which goes through 7/21.

Tickets are now:
  • Early Bird: $35
  • Regular: $40
  • Day of (at the door): $50
  • Designated Driver: $25
Substantial food is included! There are no outside food sales at our event.

Tickets are available now at Beach House Greetings (cash or check only) and online through Eventbrite.

Want to volunteer? Sign Up here!
A two-hour shift earns you a free ticket! We're looking for help throughout the event.

Questions? Shoot us an email at 4cornersshoreline@gmail.com
Because it is small and local, BrewFest is also a little quirky - we give out trophies for categories like "fastest blown keg,"  "most pulls," and the coveted "Golden Growler" (People's Choice). YOU help decide who goes home with bragging rights!

It's a fantastic afternoon of community, great beer and cider, good food, and lots of smiles. What's better than chatting up your favorite brewers, meeting new ones, and supporting nonprofits all in the same afternoon?

We hope to see you there!

Monka Brewery in Shoreline
Fans of the 4-Corners BrewFest will be sorry to hear that frequent participant Big E Ales will be closing its doors in Lynnwood on Saturday.

Big E is the second local brewer to close its doors. Gallaghers’ Where-U-Brew in Edmonds closed its doors in July 2020.

Read about Big E here and Gallaghers here.

The only brewer in Shoreline is Monka on 15th NE in the North City Business District. They have outdoor dining and food. Take out or dine-in as regulations allow.

Gallagher’s Where-U-Brew of Edmonds closes for good

Saturday, July 18, 2020

Gallaghers’ Where-U-Brew doors will be permanently closed.

Fans of the 4-Corners BrewFest will be familiar with Gallaghers. They have won the coveted Golden Growler in three different years: 2012 Maui Wowie Mango IPA, 2013 Weak in the Knees IPA, 2016 Island Paradise Summer Ale.

Tom and Marcie Kretzler of Gallaghers
Marcie Kretzler and husband Tom have owned Gallaghers’ in the Harbor Square Business Complex
at 180 W. Dayton Street #105 in Edmonds since 2014.

The couple acquired the brew-your-own-beer establishment from Dennis Gallagher, who founded it in 1995.

Gallagher’s Where-U-Brew was a brew-on-premises that specialized in helping its clients make and bottle their own beer, wine, cider, and rootbeer. Gallagher’s also had a rotating selection of their own beers on tap.

“The past few years have been a struggle, and the recent pandemic has made it impossible for us to continue,” Kretzler wrote on the Gallaghers’ website.
“We have agonized over this decision and we are forced to accept this as reality. Tom and I have been blessed with so many customers that we now call friends, and wish there was another way to keep it open.
“From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each of you for your support these past years and wish you all health and happiness...You have touched our lives and we will miss you dearly.”

The price goes up to $40 at the door.

Every brewer covets the Golden Growler

Tickets are available both online at Brown Paper Tickets and locally at Beach House Greetings (save the online fee and visit the shop with cash or a check).

To be auctioned for charity: Dave Matthews' autographed guitar

THE AUCTION IS BACK!!!

Mike Brown Productions is back with a silent auction that will directly benefit NUHSA. Brats are included in your ticket price

Your wallet. Just kidding, you can leave that at home (except for that ID). The ticket is all-inclusive, so you won't need a fat wallet (unless you bid on an awesome something in the silent auction).

This year's Top 11 reasons you need to be at BrewFest

Environmentally responsible tickets

This year's Top 11 reasons you need to be at BrewFest

11. You can FINALLY have a good answer to the question “how was your weekend? on Monday morning. Because this event is AWESOME!!

10. Pretzel necklaces. Just because kids can’t come doesn’t mean you have to accessorize like a grownup. Wearing snacks around your neck is totally fashion forward here.

9. TShirts are back. We will have a limited number of tshirts available for sale; if you have started a collection, you’ll definitely want this one!

Silent auction items - guitar
and a Steve Largent signed jersey

8. The silent auction. Mike Brown Productions is back with some fantastic stuff. One of only two reasons to bring extra funds. Go home with something, knowing that all proceeds go directly to NUHSA.

7. Live music. The best parties have real musicians providing the soundtrack to your day. We are excited to bring you The Mark DeFresne Band to round out your BrewFest.

6. Happy people. We’ve put in our order for sunshine, but even with our first rain last year, people had a blast. What could be better than friends and neighbors on a Saturday afternoon, experiencing great beer, good food, and live music together. If you're not smiling, we're very, very concerned about you.

5. Supporting neighborhoods. This event seeds next year's event, but also supports the four 4-corners neighborhoods. And a charity (the North Urban Human Services Alliance this year).

4. You get to vote, and it’s not political! Use colorful stickers instead of filling in circles, and talk up your favorite tastes to other BrewFesters! Influence rules!! Trophies go to brewers who run out of a beer first and have the most tokens, but the Golden Growler goes to the brewer who brings the Crowd Favorite. And none of that pesky waiting-for-returns... the Growler is awarded that night. Show your favorite brewer some love!

3. It's an all-inclusive ticket. A mere $35 gets you everything (drinks, food, AND entertainment) except auction items and tshirts, which means you don't have to shell out money at Taco Time on the way home, unless you promised your kids (or your dog) you would. .

2. No lines. This is the most intimate, lovely, local beer tasting event you will ever attend. Contrary to other, larger beer festivals, the 4-Corners BrewFest stays small. That means you can not only get served quickly, but you can also get to know who's pouring!

1. The Brewers and Their Beer! 192 Brewing, American Brewing Company, Bad Jimmy's Brewing Co., Diamond Knot, Downpour Brewing, Elliott Bay Brewing Company, Gallaghers' Where-U-Brew, Georgetown Brewing, Hellbent Brewing, Hemlock State Brewing, Monka Brewing Co., North Sound Brewing, Ram, The – Northgate, Salish Sea Brewing, Schilling Cider, Watts Brewing Company... We love their support and we love their brews!

Visit the BrewFest page for more information, including volunteer links and ticket sales.

It’s coming…. BrewFest 2019

Sunday, June 2, 2019

On Saturday, August 10, 2019, 4-Corners.org will host the 9th Annual BrewFest at the Innis Arden Clubhouse. This year, we celebrate “AugToberfest!”

What is BrewFest?

It is the brainchild of Richmond Beach resident Steve Kerr, who envisioned an event that would bring the four neighborhoods of Hillwood, Innis Arden, Richmond Beach, and Richmond Highlands together for a community-building, fundraising good time. It is modeled after the Phinney Ridge BrewFest.

So it’s a fundraiser? Or a community event?

It’s both! Proceeds from the event go to the four neighborhood associations, one nonprofit beneficiary, and 4-Corners.org. The event itself brings community members together to volunteer and/or to enjoy great beer, good food, and live music.

Is attendance limited to residents of those neighborhoods?

No way. Everyone over the age of 21 is welcome to come.

How do I get a ticket? Are they expensive?

Tickets are available online at Brown Paper Tickets and at our local ticket outlet, Beach House Greetings. Your ticket is inclusive – 12 5-oz tastes of local craft brews, food, and live music. The only reason to bring a check or credit card is to bid on live auction items. Tickets are $35, 2/$60, and Designated Drivers at $20.

New this year is Early Bird Pricing, which will run through Father’s Day! Early birds can purchase tickets for $30 or 2/$50.

Wait. You mentioned a nonprofit?

Yes! This year, a portion of the proceeds will go to the North Urban Human Services Alliance (NUHSA). NUHSA advocates for a strong and accessible system of human services in North King County through partnership and collaboration. Learn more about them here.

Tell me more!

For updates and more information on AugToberfest, visit the webpage. Find us also on our Facebook page.

Top eleven reasons to go to BrewFest Saturday

Monday, August 7, 2017

#8 Happy people!

2017 BrewFest - Saturday, August 12 from 3-7 pm, Innis Arden Clubhouse, 1430 NW 188th St

The 7th annual BrewFest is this Saturday in Shoreline and you can get tickets now or at the door if they are still available.

Here are the top eleven reasons to go to BrewFest

11. It's prime adult time. BrewFest is a 21+ event, which is the perfect excuse to find a sitter. Mingle with fellow beer-lovers without having to keep one eye out for your little ones.

10. It's dog-free. Are you avoiding certain places because every single dog owner brings their pup? BrewFest is intentionally humans-only, for everyone's comfort. If you don't love dogs, you don't have to worry. If you're sad about leaving yours at home, think about the greeting you'll get when you come back!

#9 Pretzel necklaces!

9. Pretzel necklaces.

8. Happy people. Friends and neighbors on a sunny Saturday, experiencing great beer, good food, and live music together. If you're not smiling, we're worried.

7. Live music. The best parties have real musicians providing the soundtrack to your experience. Celt Check is this year's band, and they sound like nobody we've had before!

6. There's a silent auction this year! Do you love our Historical Museum? This year, Mike Brown productions is bringing in some great autographed items to bid on, and proceeds will go directly to the Museum.

#5 No lines!

5. No lines. Contrary to other, larger beer festivals, the 4-Corners BrewFest stays small. That means you can not only get served quickly, but you can also get to know who's pouring!

4. The brewers are awesome! There is a great mix of large and small brewers. You will be able to find some of your favorite, go-to brewers, alongside some small guys just waiting for an introduction.

3. The beer. There is a fantastic mix of beers you've heard of and ones you have not. Some of them will probably never be created again... and you can say you were there when they were poured.

2. You get to vote! Trophies go to brewers who run out of a beer first and have the most tokens, but the Golden Growler goes to the brewer who brings the Crowd Favorite. And none of that pesky waiting-for-returns... the Growler is awarded that night.

#1 It's an All-inclusive Ticket!

1. It's an all-inclusive ticket. That means you don't have to shell out money at Taco Bell on the way home, unless you promised your kids (or your dog) you would.

You'll be humming some new tunes. Your tastebuds will have been on an adventure. You will be neither hungry nor thirsty when you leave. You might have made some new friends.
#2 You Get To Vote!
#4 The Brewers are Awesome!
#3 There's Beer!

The friends you went with are now better friends. You have the new goal of finding a tasting room or two. And you have a good answer for the "how was your weekend" question on Monday.

Join us on Saturday August 12 from 3-7 pm, Innis Arden Clubhouse, 1430 NW 188th St.

Tickets are available at Brown Paper tickets and Beach House Greetings.

Friday, August 4, 2017

Ready to serve you at BrewFest!

2017 Brew Fest - Saturday, August 12 from 3-7 pm, Innis Arden Clubhouse, 1430 NW 188th St

The 7th Annual 4-Corners BrewFest is right around the corner, and we're feeling a little nostalgic. To see where our tastebuds have been (or, more accurately, what they've voted for), and to get excited for this year, walk with us through the winners of the last 6 years:

2011
The Golden Growler (People's Choice) went home with Big E Ales for their Summer Orange Creamsicle. 1st runner up was Lantern Brewing's Zwarte-Wit, and 2nd runner up was Silver City's Fat Scotch Ale.

2012
The Golden Growler went home with Gallagher's Where U Brew for their Orange Mango IPA (Maui Wowwie). 1st runner up was Big E Ales' Blackberry Ale, and 2nd runner up was Fremont Brewing's Dark Star Imperial Oatmeal Stout. The fastest blown keg that hear was from 7 Seas Brewing (Balz Deep Double IPA).

Fremont Brewing has been at BrewFest every year

2013
The Golden Growler went home with Gallagher's again, for their Weak in the Knees IPA. 1st runner up was Fremont Brewing's Imperial Dark Star, and 2nd runner up was tied between American Brewing's Flying Monkey Pale Ale and Elysian Brewing's Night Owl Pumpkin Ale. The fastest blown keg in 2013 was Odin Brewing's Thor Sunstone Belgian Triple.

2014
The Golden Growler went home with Elysian Brewing's Night Owl Pumpkin Ale. 1st runner up was Fremont Brewing's Oaked Dark Star Imperial Stout, and 2nd runner up was Naked City Brewery's Noir City Black Saison. The fastest blown keg went to Stone Brewing's Collective Distortion Double IPA.

Naked City - always popular

2015
The Golden Growler went home with Hellbent Brewing's Funky Red Patina. 1st runner up was Triplehorn Brewing's Intervention Imperial Ale. 2nd runner up was Elysian's The Dread Oak-Aged Imperial Stout. The fastest blown keg was a tie between three brewers: American, Fremont, and Georgetown.

2016
The Golden Growler returned to Gallagher's for their Island Paradise Summer Ale. 1st runner up was Hemlock State's Brew-Tang Clan Wee Heavy Ale. 2nd runner up was Watt's Brewing's The Leafcutter. Fastest blown keg went to Hemlock State for that Brew-Tang Clan Wee Heavy Ale.

So many interesting flavors! Such tight competition! Who will you help win this year?

We've had brewers come and go (and go and come back), but four of them have been there Every.Single.BrewFest. We love them for loving our little short-line, intimate beer party! When you come, seek them out and give them a little love:

Winner of the Golden Growler!

Tickets
Your $30 inclusive ticket gets you 10 5-oz pours from these awesome brewers and 13 others (including cider!), grilled brats and other yummy food, and entertainment from band Celt Check. Tickets are available both online at Brown Paper Tickets and locally at Beach House Greetings (save the online fee and visit the shop with cash or a check).

NEW THIS YEAR!
Mike Brown Productions will be running a silent auction to directly benefit the Shoreline Historical Museum (who will also be getting a cut of the BrewFest profits). Bring a credit card and bid on such tempting items as a signed Russell Wilson football, signed Steve Largent jersey, signed Nelson Cruz baseball and signed Sting guitar!
