12-27...47xx NE 178. Resident said someone left a dead rat left on his porch. (Editor - have you talked to the cat?)
12-28...147xx 38 NE. Man called because someone was ringing their doorbell. Wife didn't look out or answer door.

Soap operas
12-29...26xx NE 195. Man went to apartment to wake up his female friend and her ex-boyfriend tasered him in the hallway. No one wants to talk to police.
12-31...26xx NE 195. Man called to ask assistance to get his things out of apartment since Tenant changed the locks on him. Manager says it's nothing to do with him. Tenant said she allowed man and his boyfriend to stay with her a couple of weeks. She asked him to leave and he ignored her. Man and BF got in a fight and she kicked them both out. Both Tenant and Man claiming ownership of TV. Manager wants them out. Man says all the furniture is his. Man is not on lease so if he comes back he will be Trespassed. Suggested he try civil court. Man said "Thank you for nothing, Bitch" and hung up.
12-31...26xx NE 195. Caller in California. Girlfriend told him his car is missing. GF moved car to Mountlake Terrace apartment complex to protect it from her earlier guests and it wasn't there when she went to get it. Police advised it might have been impounded and told her to talk to MLT cops.
12-31...Towne Centre. Traffic accident. Non-reportable but driver who was hit is being very aggressive and refusing to share information. Police calmed him. No claim necessary, all ok.
01-01...LFP. Brothers fighting. One didn't want the other in kitchen while he cooked his steak. Elderly mother called police. They yelled but were separated.
01-01...LFP. Man doesn't want son's girlfriend in house. Says she's a fugitive but doesn't know why. Advised him to tell his son to have his girlfriend leave.

The shopping cart brigade
12-28...Towne Centre. Report of man pushing a shopping cart with a stump in it around the store. Appears to be on drugs, asking customers for money. May have shoplifted wine and cold remedies, but no proof.
12-28...145 NE/Bothell Wy. Man pushing an Albertson's shopping car southbound on Bothell Wy. Mental issues. Agreed to take cart back to Mall and return the cinderblocks, cones, and cart to owners.
12-28...Mall. Found man in store spraying perfume. Store wants him Trespassed. Had cart full of things he couldn't pay for. Escorted from store and told to move along.
12-28...149xx Bothell Wy. Man sleeping behind building.

Live long enough and you'll get old, too
12-28...172xx BKS Blvd. Missing 84 year old man with dementia. Daughter and police looking for him. He returned home on his own.
12-30...LFP. 911 call. Elderly woman dialing long distance.
12-31...177xx Beach Dr. Alarm. Silent panic alarm. Man had his remote upside down and pushed the wrong button.

Lost and found
12-29...30xx NE 176. Car prowl. Window broken. Bag of money from work gone. Belongs to valet company.
12-29...185xx 26 NE. Resident found mountain bike on his property.
12-30...Towne Centre. Shoplifter on bike headed south on Bothell Way. Unable to locate.
12-30..40xx NE 196. Woman can't find her wallet. Had a hundred people at house for memorial service.

12-28...16xxx 45 NE. Police stand by while woman removes belongings from apartment.

12-27...170xx Bothell Wy. Dog hit by car. Large German Shepherd, wearing a collar. Walking, appears injured, last seen near Arco station. Unable to locate.

12-20...190xx FP Dr. Caller heard lumber breaking and saw a strange white van on the street. There had been a burglary on the street, so was cautious. Police found an Amazon grocery delivery van.
12-23...160xx 35 NE. Caller reports man with bruised eye knocking on door. Called didn't open door, called 911. Man says his cell phone is dead, but Caller can see the lights. Cops - man was at cousin's house in Kirkland, walking home to Bothell, got lost. Gave him a ride to main street and called a cab.
12-24...163xx 34 NE. Man knocked on door and said he was a locksmith. Resident suspicious. Area check negative.
12-24...170xx Bothell Wy. Caller thinks she left her purse at the Arco gas station but it's not there. Thinks it was stolen. Clerk says he never saw her wallet. Will contact manager for surveillance tapes.
12-25...Police. Reviewed surveillance tapes from Arco station. Woman never had a purse at the gas station.

12-25...28xx NE 195. Caller can hear woman screaming and coughing loudly. Now a dog is chasing a man and owner is telling dog to 'sic him'. Cops - all quiet at location.

Off his meds again
12-22...Towne Centre. Man who was previously Trespassed from Mall is back and yelling, talking about unusual things. Calmed, arrested, booked at station, taken to motel he lives at.
12-24...170xx Bothell Wy. Caller said subject was wandering in and out of traffic, rambling about the KKK. Contacted him in Albertson's. He said he'll take the bus to Seattle.

On his meds again
12-23...35xx NE 182. Woman called to report that her father-in-law had let the air of their car tires because he's upset that they do drugs. Father is upset that son is back on meth and heroin after five years clean. Wanted to keep them from driving under the influence. They want him to stop harassing them. He wants to stage an intervention.

12-22...157xx Bothell Wy. Driver stopped in transit lane to use cell phone.

Must not have heard about drinking and driving
12-22...30xx NE 181. Traffic accident. Caller thinks that car may be in ditch, hears kids yelling. 2nd caller reports yelling. Car might be in creek. Someone yelling "get out of the car, we have to go". Need Aid and tow, someone trapped in car. Driver was drinking, took curve too fast. Transported to NW Hospital. see stories: Car flipped into creek and No environmental damage.

I'm at a loss for words
12-24...Towne Centre, pizza shop. Man says that manager promised him pizza. Assistant manager on duty says no. Exchange of heated words and both called cops.
12-24...189xx 46 NE. 911. Man sounded like he had been drinking. History of problems at this address. Son had called 911 because mother wanted him to eat dinner and he wasn't ready. All parties agreed to finish dinner.
12-24...189xx 23 NE. Employee didn't show up for work. She opened door after numerous attempts to contact her. Said she was sick and would call boss.

12-21...10xx NE 180. Shouting match between father and son.
12-21...15xx NE Perkins Wy. Couple living together, have two children. He assaulted her and made verbal threats.

12-15...167xx Wallingford N. Fraudulent purchases on victim's debit card, total loss $7232.
12-16...165xx N Park N. Someone used victim's Nordstrom Visa card to spend $183 on Overstock.com. Goods were sent to an address in Bothell but company refuses to disclose the address.
12-17...197xx 10 NE. Woman didn't bother to get her mail out for the box. When she looked, there was a bundle of open mail placed in her mailbox with a note attached advising her that if she had picked up her mail she would have avoided her mail having gotten stolen.

12-21...163xx Aurora. Man sent for detox after being found severely intoxicated, stumbling, and unable to talk clearly. Numerous businesses along Aurora called in to report his behavior throughout the evening.

12-22...3xx NW RB Rd. Prescription pills taken from victim's purse in apartment living room. Empty methadone bottle left behind, the vicodin bottle taken.

12-19...351 NW RB Rd, Henry House. Person went for walk, called son saying "my heard bad" never returned.
12-22...9xx N 200. Man visiting from Spokane, has psychological and drug abuse problems. Went to store with friends and went missing.

12-18...1530 NE 177, King County Housing. Male who had been Trespassed was back on premises. Four police deputies responded to the call.
12-19...147xx Bothell Wy NE, Sheridan Apts. Homeless man enters laundry room and causes disturbance.
12-21...184xx 17 NW. Attempted burglaries on street. Two guys going door to door and ringing doorbell. Entered one garage.

This blotter has two weeks of police activity, but there were so many storm-related calls during this time that they get their own article.

Tales of the Watercrest
12-06...148xx Bothell Wy, Watercrest. 911 call from man with limited English saying he was locked in Apartment 4 and couldn't open the door. Disconnected. Called back to say he was in Unit 10199. Police surmise he is trapped in elevator and contact Fire. Fire contacted elevator company which got him out.
12-11...148xx Bothell Way, Watercrest. Caller hears screaming in the apartment above. Police know family. Daughter has been violent in the past.

Good Neighbor Sam
12-06...184xx 40 Pl NE. Caller angry that neighbor is pressure-washing his driveway. Neighbor has an easement to use the driveway and they have been fighting over the terms for a long time. Police forced them to talk to each other but they started yelling. Caller plans to get a restraining order on neighbor to keep him from maintaining driveway.

Good business for auto repair shops
12-06...17001 Bothell Wy, Arco. Car pulled out of gas station in front of oncoming vehicle.
12-09...191xx Ballinger. Three car accident. Driver was eating a sandwich and didn't see stopped cars. Rear-ended a stopped car which rammed into the car in front.
12-11...36xx NE 155. Woman going for cigarettes accidentally moved car into chain link fence, bending it. Waiting for tow.
12-11...153/Bothell Way. Traffic accident, non-injury.
12-12...Brookside Blvd/Bothell Way. Traffic accident. Two cars, both towed. One driver to Harborview for head and neck pain.
12-15...165xx Bothell. Traffic accident. Car made fast lane change in front of van. Van braked and car behind rear-ended van. First driver left the scene.
12-16...NE 186/40 Pl NE. Traffic accident. Someone hit a light pole hard enough that it is leaning into street. City Light says it is cracked and will have to be replaced. Driver and car left scene.

12-08...36xx NE 155. Someone, probably a tenant, took a crowbar to the coin machine in the apartment laundry room.
12-18...51xx NE 184. Son had a party last night and now Mom's credit cards are missing.

Non-storm related alarms
12-08...169xx 26 NE. Alarm. Police contacted homeowner about alarm. He's worried that his wife would be arriving at home soon and might run into whoever tripped the alarm. Police met her and cleared the house at her request.
12-08...145xx Bothell. Alarm at Northwest Kidney Center front entry. Last alarm was a hold-up. Checked building, all secure.
12-15...145xx 37 NE. Residential alarm.
12-17...16xx NE 195. Residential alarm. Police checked exterior. Large mastiff was inside house.

12-07...186xx 41st Pl. 911 - open line for a minute with nothing heard. Then caller said he dropped the phone and it was a misdial.
12-12...155xx Bothell Way. 911 call. Tried to call 411.
12-12...36xx NE 195. 911 hang up. Appears accidental.
12-19...35xx NE 182. 911. Caretaker trying to call east coast.

Domestic violence
12-08...195xx 38 NE. Neighbor said couple next door fight a lot and wife went to emergency room in the early morning hours. Police said to call next time they are fighting.
12-09...36xx NE 155, apartment. Caller in verbal dispute with ex-husband. He refuses to leave. She called 911. He left but told he she was dead. She's not worried.
12-11...145xx Bothell Way, group home. Caller says another resident is threatening to "kick his ass."
12-15...LFP. Juvenile removed by CPS because of assault. Arrest of adult pending.
12-17...187xx 35 NE. 911. Mom arguing with teenaged son over meds and his attendance at a Shoreline party which was broken up by SL police.
12-18...LFP. Domestic violence call. One person arrested.

Mental
12-09...26xx NE 195. Caller wants his counselor to leave his apartment. Says counselor is calling him names. Caller has medical and mental issues and has not been taking meds. He agreed to stay calm and go talk to the doctor about meds.
12-10...192xx 37. 911 call. 44 year old daughter in melt-down. Fought with hairdresser, called 911, broke the phone, got a knife. Going for voluntary mental evaluation.
12-18...LFP. Person upset over divorce, threatening suicide.

"We believe the children are the future...treat them well"
12-10...Towne Centre. Juvenile shoplifted in Ace Hardware. Staff followed him into Third Place and detained him. Mom will take care of situation.
12-11...37xx NE 188. 17:06 reported that daughter ran away. 20:03 daughter returned home.
12-12...174xx Ballinger. Juveniles playing by creek, unsupervised.
12-13...Towne Centre, Sally Beauty. Three female teens shoplift ear-piercing starter kit worth $99.99.
12-13...189xx FP Dr NE. Live band practice. Asked them to stop for the night.
12-14...Police station. Shoreline woman wants to know long-boarding regulations in LFP. Says her son was threatened by an LFP police officer.
12-14...175xx Ballinger. Found student backpack with ID but no local schools has heard of him.

Don't let that kid out of your sight
12-14...Towne Centre, Third Place. Father and toddler spend a lot of time at Third Place. Concerned about elderly man who is too interested in toddler daughter. Father talked privately with old guy who said he was a Christian who believed in the truth of children and referenced constitution freedom of speech. Police will follow up with Mall security.

Not what it seemed
12-10...Towne Centre. Report of two males and a dog in the construction zone where Gold's Gym used to be. Just a couple of guys who were curious.
12-13...167xx 32 NE. 911 call. Wife thought someone was in the house because the light was on. Found that husband left it on so she hung up.
12-14...37xx NE 188. Residential alarm. Man standing in driveway. Homeowner's son is checking on alarm, which has had several false trips lately.
12-16...40 Pl/NE 195. Man passed out in roadway. Up and walking away when police arrived.
12-18...192xx 32 NE. Call about three men on street, wearing hoodies and carrying rifles. Police used PA to order them to put weapons on ground, hands in air and move to center of street. Three guys playing with air-soft weapons. Promised to stay out of street.

Like a horror film
12-13...29xx NE 185. Woman thinks someone is breaking in - heard a rustle and thump. Left house, taking two year old and is calling from neighbor's. Police found a screwdriver in the screen door like someone was trying to pry it open.
12-13...29xx NE 185. Woman saw strange man in neighborhood. She is nervous because of attempted burglary this morning. Cops did not locate him and streets are clear.

Car and driver.. uh, and bike
12-13...169xx 26 NE. Car tagged for removal - parked over 72 hours.
12-13...45xx NE 170. Mountain bike left on caller's property.
12-14...37xx NE 153.. Abandoned car.
12-14...37xx NE 178. Traffic stop. Driver has criminal warrants from Bonney Lake but they were unable to meet to pick him up, so he was cited and released.
12-14...194xx Ballinger. Driving with suspended license.
12-15...201xx 53 NE. Parking complaints.
12-16...153xx Bothell. Driving with suspended license.
12-16...165xx Bothell Way. Stopped a bicyclist riding on road in dark with no light. Pointed him to Burke Gilman Trail and told him to get a helmet. Smelled of alcohol.

12-15...Towne Centre. Shop employee detained shoplifter who was then arrested by police.
12-15...26xx NE 195. Two guys looking at cars in apartment parking lot. When questioned, one said he was looking for his girlfriend's car, then left.

12-09...182xx Ballinger. Home for sale and vacant. Door to mother-in-law apartment is forced open and there is evidence of drug use. Will notify realtor.
12-10...189xx 40 Pl NE. Caller's fiance and his roommate haven't returned from trip to WalMart.
12-10...185xx 26 NE. Big rock through window of van.
12-11...197xx 42 NE. Dog barking all night. Police checked but did not hear anything.
12-17...17001 Bothell Wy. Assisted citizen whose credit card was stuck in slot at gas pump. Citizen took card and went elsewhere to buy gas.

Mail theft - some in Shoreline, too
12-17...175xx 33 NE. Mailbox damaged. Mail found from the next block.
12-18...182xx 29 Pl NE. Mail theft from boxes. One box had mail from Snohomish county left in it.

Toilet paper is too hard to deal with in this weather
12-19...190xx 34 NE. Man reported vandalism. Police found plastic knives, forks, spoons stuck all over his front lawn. Told him it was a kid prank. He wants cops to remove them. Not happening.

11-18…167xx Aurora. Therapeutic Health. Woman took her methadone dose at her THS appointment and then began displaying symptoms of overdose. Medics believe there were other drugs she had ingested. Several different kinds of pills, marijuana, and crack pipes were found in her purse.
11-20…N 175/Meridian. Woman driving husband home from 30th birthday party. Poor driving results in DUI investigation and arrest.
11-21…16716 Aurora, Club Hollywood. Very drunk female is refused entrance and gets in fight with security. Admonished and Trespassed from premises.

Fed-up citizen
11-16…NW 200/8 NW. Complaint about traffic and pedestrian safety.

Fraud in faraway places
11-17…145xx 6 NE. Bank noticed unusual transactions and froze account. Two purchases made in Mumbai, India. (I originally credited this one to LFP but it was Shoreline)

Trends: Someone is recycling an old trick. Watch for the shopper who puts her purse in the basket, then walks away to buy produce. Take the purse/wallet. Watch for the busy mom who leaves her wallet in her coat at the fast food place while she goes to pick up her food. Take the purse/wallet.

Don’t leave your wallet unattended
11-10….1201 N 175, TOP Foods. Women went to pay for groceries and realized she no longer had her wallet. Not in vehicle, not in store. Could be lost or could be stolen while she was in store.
11-10….14507 Bothell Wy NE, McDonald's. Victim’s wallet was stolen off the table inside the restaurant. Restaurant will provide surveillance video.
11-11….18325 Aurora, Fred Meyer. Stole purse from shopping cart while victim distracted.
11-15….11xx N 205, Costco. Credit card holder stolen from purse in shopping cart.
11-14….4xx N 179 Pl. Lost wallet, now fraudulent charges are showing up on credit cards.

11-09….10xx NE Perkins Wy. Victim found lying face down in vomit in a driveway. Sent to NW Hospital for detox. (Drinking is so glamorous)
11-10….17700 Aurora. Woman walking down middle of Aurora was taken for involuntary commitment.
11-12….NW 190/21 NW. Guy driving around looking for a place to smoke some weed, when police decided he would be interesting to talk to. Weed confiscated.
11-12….165xx 15 NE. Guy ran around inside store; clerk pushed the silent alarm.
11-12….20036 Ballinger, Thriftway. Guys harassing customer, one arrested for under-age possession of alcohol.
11-13…151xx Stone Ln N, apartments. Man claims he was victim of home invasion and was thrown from his balcony. Mental issues.
11-13….18325 Aurora, Fred Meyer. Guy high on meth climbed onto the awning above the entrance. Carrying pepper spray. Believed someone was armed with a shotgun in his car, although this person was not visible to others. Sent to Northwest for mental evaluation.
11-14…14xx NW RB Rd. 19 year old driver arrested for driving while intoxicated on alcohol and marijuana.
11-14….N 175/Midvale N. Traffic stop for bad driving. Driver arrested for DUI, vehicle impounded.
11-14….16101 Greenwood N, SCC. Drunk rode to end of bus line at SCC and refused to get off.
11-14….17xx NE 145, Paramount House. Suspect bites victim’s finger, causing cut.
11-15….180xx Midvale, Briarwood apartments. Female tenant boxed up her belongings and moved them out of the apartment to the hallway under the table. Told the manager she did this so maybe God would love her.

(Mostly) Clumsy smash and grab burglaries
11-09….17751 15 NE, Suni’s Pizza. Burglary. Window broken out with a piece of concrete, K9 search negative. Made quick, disorderly grab of cash from till.
11-09….17704 15 NE, Sonny Auto Repair. Alarm at 04:49 for front door office. Burglar attempted to break in using some type of punch tool.
11-13….185xx Meridian N. Residential burglary. Jewelry stolen. Owner believes they came in through second story window.

11-09….191xx 3 NW. Foster child with anger issues assaults foster mom and counselor.
11-11….17xx NE 145, apartment. Juvenile runaway, cut off ankle bracelet and left the residence.

11-15….NE 150/20 NE, Fircrest School. Stolen utility trailer found abandoned.
11-15….24xx NW 197. Power tools stolen from unlocked garage.
11-15….13xx N 167. Son-in-law is remodeling bathroom for in-laws and using the garage as a staging area. A couple of his tools have gone missing.
