| Shoreline Little League plays hard |

On Saturday the Shoreline Little League Junior level baseball team played down in Vancouver, Washington, against Redmond. The boys played hard but the errors early in the game really were too tough for them to overcome.
Late in the game the game they made a comeback which allowed SLL to get the score closer but Redmond held off SLL’s surge to take the game by a score of 14-7 in 7 innings.
Entering the losers' bracket with some fire under their feet to get back into their winning ways, their next game was on Sunday against District 5. On Saturday, District 5 lost to West Valley by a score of 23-1, according to the Washington Little League website.
Shoreline started this game with a bang, scoring 14 runs in the first 2 innings. District 5 was a really young team with little experience, but they put 100% into the game, even down 21-0 going into the top of the 5th and final inning.
Shoreline allowed a run in that inning and came out on top by a score of 21-1. Normally the game would have gone a full 7 innings, but there is a mercy rule that goes into effect when a team is up by at least 10 runs after 5 innings of play are completed.
Then on Tuesday the boys faced Redmond again in a rematch after they were beaten by 7 runs on Saturday by the same team. This time Shoreline showed true dominance by ending the game in the 6th innings with a walk-off scoring run for a 15-5 win. This was a huge win since they lost their first game and you are eliminated when you lose 2 games.
Thursday Shoreline plays Steel Lake/ Kent from District 10 at 6pm on the same field, Glenwood, in Vancouver, Washington. Steel Lake/ Kent lost their first game of the tournament 6-4 but has since won 3 straight, including a win Wednesday of 15-5 over North Kitsap from District 2.
Shoreline has to win Thursday, win Friday and then win two games on Saturday to win the State Championship, but from what I have seen from this team so far, I have no doubt they can pull it off.

Shoreline Little League Baseball Juniors win District 8 Championship

On Saturday, July 9th, the Shoreline Little League Juniors level baseball team won the District 8 championship game in dramatic fashion against the NE/RUG team.
Shoreline led for most of the game until the top of the 7th inning where NE/RUG took a 7-6 lead. The SLL boys rallied in the bottom of the 7th inning to tie the game back up at 7-7.
Since their games normally end after 7 complete innings, unless the game is tied at that point, they went into an 8th inning where Shoreline held NE-RUG to zero runs.
Then in the bottom of the 8th inning Shoreline’s Alex Krasnoselsky came up to bat with a runner in scoring position and hit a walk-off single to win the District 8 Championship for Shoreline Little League.
The team now moves on to the State Tournament in Vancouver, Washington.

Shoreline Little League All-Star games are here and they are hoping to see you at a game. Both baseball and softball have been practicing hard and ready to compete.
2016 is the first season of the newly formed SLL as North King County LL and Richmond LL combined forces during the off-season. This has brought the entire Shoreline community together to support each team equally. Even the SPD & SFD came out for a community photo shoot this week to show their support.
The teams are playing games at various fields from Hamlin to Shorewood HS to NAF in Woodinville to Magnuson Park. So far the Shoreline Little League website doesn't have the exact game dates and times listed yet, but if you go to the District 8 Umpires website, you can find the different levels and where they are scheduled to play.
Come on out and support your community and enjoy some high level softball and baseball. These kids, coaches and parents are in it to win!

Shorewood graduate Blake Snell in the news
Monday, April 11, 2016
Shorewood baseball standout Blake Snell's career got a boost from his father's tough talk over dinner at Spiro's, according to this article from the Tampa Bay Times.
Blake Snell had been back to his Seattle area home for a week or two, feeling pretty good about himself after a 2014 season in which he finally reached advanced Class A during his fourth pro season and was named the Rays' top minor-league pitcher.
He headed out with his dad and older brother, Dru, to grab some food at Spiro's Pizza and Pasta, one of their favorite local spots in Shoreline.
But there was more than just dinner served that night.

Puget Sound Senior baseball league 2016 tryout dates
Wednesday, February 24, 2016
The divisions are organized based on age and skill level, ranging from competitive to recreational. Formed in 1989, this year marks the PSSBL’s 28th season of operation. The League is affiliated with MSBL/MABL, the national organization which spearheaded the adult baseball movement in the 1980’s.
The 2016 tryouts will be held at Edmonds Community College on Sunday, March 6th, Bellevue College on Saturday, March 12th, and Meridian Park playing fields in Shoreline on Sunday, March 20th. Meridian Park is located at 16765 Wallingford Ave N in Shoreline.
For more information including start times, tryout players and all interested parties are encouraged to view the PSSBL website or call 425-644-1901.
There are a number of ex-minor leaguers and college players in the PSSBL, but there’s also plenty of room in the recreational divisions for players who haven’t picked up a baseball since Little League.
The A’s, based in the PSSBL, are the current national World Series champions in the Age 45 and Over category. Also of interest, the all-women’s Seattle Diamonds baseball team plays in the recreational-level Teton Division vs. all-male teams, plus the PSSBL features 12 teams for players age 55 and over.
The PSSBL is well known for donating money, materials, and labor to youth and school baseball organizations around the Sound as well as other charities. This season we are assisting Thomas Jefferson High School, Bellevue College, Borderline Baseball, and the Wounded Warriors Project.
