Go to Wild Birds unlimited and buy suet with hot pepper. The birds can't taste it but the rats avoid it. I've been advised that feeding animals peanuts creates a life-threatening risk for humans with peanut allergies. The birds drop peanuts all over the surrounding area and some people really are that vulnerable.

how do you keep the rats away? I would like to feed birds and give peanuts to squirrels and bluejays but I CANT STAND RATS
