Seattle Poppy found this tree at the bus stop on the south side of NE 175th, just west of Aurora.

It looks like my messy, unpruned pear tree but I have no explanation for the stuff on the ground - and I'm notoriously bad at plant identification anyway.
Readers?

In the second photo, those look like ginkgo leaves on the ground. I googled “ginkgo fruit” and what I found resembled the first photo
ReplyDeleteLooks like our Japanese Umbrella tree. Japonica something. The part on the ground starts out as little white delicate umbrellas hanging all over
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a female ginkgo. The round yellow things on the tree are the fleshy seeds. The seeds on the ground are a lighter color. You can see some fan-shaped leaves on the ground. Click on the picture and see a jpeg image. Click on the image to get an enlargement. Fascinating tree.
