Veterans, elections, and hippos, oh my
Monday, November 10, 2025
Veterans were on the minds of many of the 50+ protestors at the Shoreline-Edmonds line Sunday, November 10, 2025 with several using their signs to honor and support them in light of Veterans Day on Tuesday.
Other signs nodded to the ongoing government shutdown and questions about President Trump's health in light of him "resting his eyes" for an extended period during a press conference on Friday, and election results from last Tuesday.

The sign-waving is a regular event at the intersection of Aurora Ave N and N 205th St., 1-2pm, organized by Shoreline-based Everyday Activists as part of its "Social Justice Sundays."
They continue every Sunday in November with the theme this month of "All elections are special."

It would be nice if the Shoreline Area News shared both political sides. It seems the views are always from one side, when in fact, Shoreline area citizens are not made up of one political party. The political news shared in this newsletter comes across very biased and assumptive.
Both political sides? Seriously? The landslide victories of Jayapal and her predecessor McDermott should tell you that there is no room for conservatives in the district. And that is reinforced by the echo-chamber that is the city council.
There is a ton of news, events, activities, fun photos, and varied opinions in the Shoreline area, an amazing amount of which makes it into the Shoreline Area News.
If you know about an event you'd like covered, send the info to the editor or send her photos and information afterwards. I bet if she has the room and it's of interest to some segment of the community, she will try to fit it in. Or, write a letter to the editor on a subject of importance to you.
I don't always agree with or like everything I read about, but I appreciate seeing and reading about it all - and sometimes I change my mind on things.
Most people aren't all "liberal" or all "conservative" (however that is defined). Get involved, talk to your neighbors, help make Shoreline better and maybe convince a few folks you have a better idea.
