Photowalkers have an upclose view of the neighborhood

The Shoreline Photowalkers is an informal group led by Shoreline resident Dorrena Ortega, who has contributed photos to the Shoreline Area News as well as to the City of Shoreline TV Channel.

The Photowalkers' goal is "To preserve and document the city as seen through the eyes of its citizens. What better way to get to know this city then by walking it?"

They gather monthly in a designated Shoreline location to walk and take photographs of what they see. Photos are posted on their Facebook page.

Dates and times of the walk vary, but the Walks will be posted on the ShorelineAreaNews.com as they are scheduled.

The next Photowalk will be in the Ridgecrest neighborhood at the Northcrest Park, 827 NE 170th Street, Shoreline 98155. Saturday, January 22 · 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. This park sits between the homes in this neighborhood and runs almost the length of the block.

Dorrena says "All are welcome, pets included where allowed. Feel free to invite your friends to join us on this new photowalking adventure. If you cannot join the group walk please feel free to walk and photograph when it is convenient for you. Be sure to come back and share your pictures with us."

If anyone wants to meet up to walk together, just leave a message here.

For now, the Photowalkers will focus on the Shoreline area, but may expand to other areas around Shoreline if there is sufficient interest.
