The jersey barrier isn't at surface level - it's raised - so it's like driving in a trench. In addition, there are only two lanes, and I'd say they're narrower than standard lanes, maybe like those on the Aurora bridge. There was a lot of traffic at that time and on that day, I can only imagine what it's like during rush hour.

In addition to the above, the lane on the north side of N. 200th from the Costco gas station to Aurora has been switched from having eastbound traffic to having westbound traffic. As such, westbound and southbound Metro buses appear to be going that direction (I saw a RapidRide bus doing so), and without the left turn lane, I'd imagine that gets backed up fairly quickly. Also, the northbound and eastbound Metro buses are using northbound Aurora up to 205th, going east to Meridian - where they're sharing the road with all rerouted Community Transit buses, south on Meridian, and west on N. 200th to the transit center.

In addition, the parking lot on the immediate north side of the Costco gas station is under construction, for the option for diesel fuel is being added, expected opening in May.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
