Look at https://www.crimereports.com/ on a regular basis then tell me it's not a political issue. Burglaries, assaults, thefts, sexual violence. Our police do a great job but they can only be in so many places at a time. My taxes are high enough in shoreline. It really would be nice for the park to be patrolled more regularly and even for the parks department to monitor the bathrooms more regularly. They can be found with drug paraphernalia in them. It makes me sad to see a park that was just redone for families taken over so families do not want to go. It is such a beautiful plan with the lake. The city did a beautiful job redoing the park and yet....why are our city leaders not taking note? I will not let my kids even go close to the park. I am a social worker and hugely empathetic, but I will not compromise my children's safety. It simply makes me sad. What life can throw at you and then some.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17936657557361150943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5741412946805763929.post-35229917420222432852016-06-13T10:55:12.901-07:002016-06-13T10:55:12.901-07:00So, are we to be on the lookout for "three su...So, are we to be on the lookout for "three subjects"? I'm pretty sure I know why they don't list the race of the suspects. Thanks for the pertinent info, Shoreline Area News! I'll keep my eye out for any groups of three.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5741412946805763929.post-615974496041584902016-06-13T00:06:24.229-07:002016-06-13T00:06:24.229-07:00Yes would be nice to know what the 3 guys looked l...Yes would be nice to know what the 3 guys looked like.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15737453231847789719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5741412946805763929.post-45096215561667298142016-06-12T23:54:37.962-07:002016-06-12T23:54:37.962-07:00This is just part of the 'growing pains' o...This is just part of the 'growing pains' of being an urbanized dreamland compliments of the decision makers at city hall. Say it with me now and nod along, "We know change is coming!" A non-life threatening injury and lasting psychological trauma isn't too much to ask, is it? After all, the Aurora Transit Center is a regional investment and we should feel privileged and gracious that it's located in Shoreline.

Could have the funds lost from twelve year tax-breaks given by the pro-development city council for mega-density have funded some additional patrols by law enforcement in known high-crime areas, not just Echo Lake? This crime isn't being caused or cultivated by Shoreline residents.

Transit is transit, and if the negligence by the City and the various transit agencies that operate out of this transit center combined with mega-density surrounding it are any indication of how the light rail stations with the kind of density the city is pushing for that only a mere handful of people want, what do you think the future of these neighborhoods holds?

This thing the planners continue to call a "plan" really isn't a plan at all. No plan for public safety, no plan for infrastructure, no master plan for the stations. They've essentially thrown a canister of pick-up sticks in the air and letting them fall where ever and called it "a plan". It's alarming that the park and trail in general have become more dangerous over the last few years and nothing seems to be done about it. I live very near the trail and walk my dogs occasionally on it. I'd like to see a police presence there sometimes, especially after sunset. I don't want to resort getting a gun license just to walk my dogs near my house.Tom Wallacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13500067660098963973noreply@blogger.com
