Thursday, February 22, 2018, as the first agenda item on the regular council meeting, there will be a Public Hearing regarding Ordinance 1173 enacting a Moratorium on Permits for Conservation Cluster Housing

See previous article

Conservation cluster housing was adopted in January of 2017 as a part of the City’s commitment to single family cluster and cottage housing as a low impact development strategy to reduce native vegetation loss and minimize encroachment of critical area buffers.

The development proposal submitted pursuant to the revised code is not meeting the intent and outcome desired when the City Council adopted conservation cluster housing development regulations.

The Council enacted a 90 day moratorium prohibiting the acceptance of applications for conservation cluster housing. State law requires that Council hold a public hearing within sixty (60) days of the adoption of a moratorium ordinance.

This hearing will give the public an opportunity to express concerns about or support for the moratorium and provide input on possible amendments to the conservation cluster housing code provisions. If the Council formally considers an ordinance making changes to Section 18.54.042 LFPMC, at least one more public hearing will be held prior to its adoption.

The regular council meeting will continue after the hearing.

7pm Thursday, February 22, 2018, LFP City Hall Council Chambers, 17425 Ballinger Way NE
