The two candidates for an open position on the Shoreline School Board recently sent statements to introduce themselves to voters. Heather Fralick and Jill Brady are running on the Nov. 7 ballot for the position that Debi Ehrlichman now holds.

Here are the statements from the two candidates:

Shoreline School District Board, Pos. 2

Heather Fralick--

I would appreciate your vote for the Shoreline School Board in November.

I am a mom and teacher committed to the success of all of our children. We need a District that cultivates an environment where each student is capable of succeeding. We must advocate for additional classroom resources from the State and address issues surrounding equity and inclusion.

I will engage in deliberative decision-making that considers the whole picture and values the perspectives of parents and students, teachers and administrators, and our broader community to ensure that our children get the best education possible. Cooperation and collaboration are key to maintaining the quality and strength of our schools.

Jill Brady—

Jill is a committed education advocate and proven leader. Married to a Shorecrest graduate and raising two children, she has 13 years’ experience bringing parents, teachers, administrators and community members together to ensure all children have the best access to learning.

With a B.A. in Business and a leader of the Shoreline Public Schools Foundation and PTA, she will continue to build partnerships and ensure strong financial stewardship as we implement new state laws and build new schools.

Jill is a longtime Lake Forest Park resident and proud to have received the sole endorsement of retiring School Board President Debi Ehrlichman, along with many teachers, parents, and city/community/state leaders. wwwElectJillBrady.org

It would be GREAT to have a teacher on our school board. Glad to see one running.

I appreciate that Heather has shared her vision, not just her background.
