Former local legislator trails in race for Pierce County Council

Former King County Councilmember Carolyn Edmonds is trailing in her race for a Pierce County Council seat against State Sen. Pam Roach.

Edmonds also served in the state legislature, elected to the State House of Representatives in 1998, representing Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Kenmore, and part of north Seattle. She left when she was elected to the King County Council November 2001. She served on the Council until 2005.

As of Friday, Edmonds had 25,296 votes or 49.58% to Roach's 25,721 and 50.42%. There are 4,600 ballots left to be counted with the next results to be release on Tuesday. The election will be certified on November 29.
