Clayton M Peterson to Speak at Veterans Day Celebration in Shoreline

The Annual Shoreline Veterans Day Celebration will be held on Friday, November 11 at 2pm in the Shoreline City Council Chambers.

Guest speaker will be Clayton M Peterson, author of “A Million to One and Lived”.

In 1969 he was in the Mobile Riverine Force in the Mekong River Delta, was wounded on his third major firefight, and spent thirteen months in various military hospitals recovering from his thirty-eight major wounds.

By a ‘Million to One’ chance, he miraculously lived.

He received two Purple Hearts, a Combat Infantry Badge, an Army Commendation Medal, and various other awards.

His miraculous story will touch your heart with anger, love, and hope.
Anger because of the awfulness of war itself, love because of the enduring struggle he and his wife faced during his recovery, and hope for those who find themselves or someone they know in a continuing healing process.

This event is sponsored by the City of Shoreline, the Shoreline Veterans Association and Starr Sutherland, Jr. Post 227 of the American Legion.
