Shorewood won a tough match with Mountlake Terrace by defeating the Hawks 4-3. In a match up between two state tournament players at number 1 singles, T-Bird Gunnar Thorstenson and Hawk Jeremy Ansdell, Ansdell prevailed 7-6, 7-5. In last year's District 1 singles final Thorstenson defeated Ansdell in straight sets.

The teams were tied 3-3 with only the number 3 singles match, between Shorewood's Andrew Counter and Mountlake Terrace's Jake Peters, left. Counter came from behind after losing the first set and won the next two sets to secure the win for his team.

The Thunderbirds overall record is 5-0 and 2-0 in WesCo South. The Thunderbirds travel to Jackson on Friday September 16th with matches starting at 3:30pm.
