The City of Shoreline needs to take similar action to rein in developers. Intensive development of multiple housing units on what used to be single plats is decimating our suburban forest canopy.

And if the urbanists who serve on our Council now won't step up to address this problem, then they need to be replaced by representatives who will listen to their constituents.

It sure would be nice to have Shoreline actually do something to preserve our canopy. The city says they want to protect our trees, but about 80% of our trees are on private property and are coming done by the hundreds. Currently there are few protections and even less enforcement. Many trees are not replaced, and if they are, it is usually with a tree that will never grow to the size that will restore what has been removed. City Council is responsible for the current situation and can fix it. What are they doing?
